Re: Wireless Always On After Startup
The wireless card is: Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.
Within in xPUD, there is the gnome editor, so I guess I could try to run iwconfig or ifconfig to see if that turns on the card

Re: Wireless Always On After Startup
So I looked through the build file of xPUD, and they have included my wireless card in the firmware set as part of the system.
However, I think I still need to 'turn it on' directly after boot...BIOS setting change? Device Manager change?
Thanks for the help so far,
T

Re: Wireless Always On After Startup
Thanks for the reply.
I will look into the firmware needed for my wireless card...is 'Ndiswrapper' compatible with Vista?
In addition, the hardware switch is always on.
Thanks,
T

Wireless Always On After Startup
Hello all, I have recently downloaded xPUD (fast booting linux software) as an "instant-on" type dual boot set up. However, because it loads up just after the initial Lenovo welcome screen, it seems that my green wireless indicator has yet to light up (indicating my wireless card is working). Thus, ...

Re: X61T Wireless Issue
Thanks. We have other laptops also running off of the same router in the house and they do not experience that same problem. In addition, when I turn my computer on from off at my cousins house, I also need to go through the same hassle trying to get on his wireless network? Would it be some DHCP se...

X61T Wireless Issue
Hello all, Recently (past 3 months or so), I have had trouble getting onto the internet through my wireless card. However, once its on, than its no problem, but when I turn on my computer initially, it normally takes a good 7-10 mins to be connected to both 'local and internet'. When I turn on my co...

Memory Problems
Hello all, So I installed a 2GB memory stick about a year ago, and within the past few months (after I installed SP1 for Vista 32) I was getting Blue screens that seemed related to memory problems. I never dealt with it, assuming it was a problem with SP1. So yesterday, I returned to a backup of pre...

I had the ram installed before SP1 installation. I would like to restore to a point before my SP1 installation now (I do not have access to the pre-SP1 backup on my external HDD until Christmas), but like a dummy, I used the "vsp1cln" tool to remove the uninstallation files....so I do not know of an...

I have been getting BSOD on my X61T with Vista32 SP1 ever since I have put SP1 on. I am running with an additional 2GB of ram to the original 1GB I got with the machine...I believe that could be the problem. I have mentioned this problem in a couple of other threads, but have come up with no definit...

So changed up to compatibility mode, and I am still getting the blue screens..although they are lesser in number. I believe I am still getting them related to 'ram errors'. I have updated my BIOS, as of this past Friday, and am trying to keep my drivers updated. So I do not know what to do next, whe...

So after contemplating uninstalling SP1 over an over (i.e. previous posts), I figured I would give it one more shot. SO I ran PC Doctor tests, and only 2 of 12 (or so) system memory tests actually passed....so could SP1/the new Thinkpad BIOS have problems with the additional 2Gb stick of Kingston ra...
