Re: T440 Ultra Dock ext. screen

Oh, well, that was a year ago. And the solution was not stable, so I was back to a very unreliable solution. But then 2 weeks ago I came upon a couple of redundant Ultra docks and decided to do some experiments. First I suspected that the HDMI-cable (5 meters) from the dock to the TV-set was faulty,...

Re: T440 Ultra Dock ext. screen

Now returning to the dock to make ready for the forthcoming summers activities, suddenly the external screen comes on without any special procedures. I suppose that one of the many updates to Win10 over the winter must have solved the problem :D

Re: How can I find out if I can run Win10 or Win 7 on this T60?

I have just rescued an old T60 from a grandchild: Would not start due to some virus/malware problem. Its a T60 2007 - 4CG from july 2006 with a 7200rpm HDD and 3Gb of usable RAM. Downloaded the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, installed that on a USB-memory and changed the boot order in BIOS to b...

Re: Anniversary update on T60

So with that positive message, as I was visiting the family I updated one T60 (having a Kingston SSD, some years old) manually using MCT. That went smooth. Upon startup of the other T60 on the table, I realized that that one was already in the process of updating from Windows update. And this one al...

Win10 Anniversary update on T60

Is there anyone with a T60 that has received the anniversary update after aug. 2, 2016 automatically through Windows update?

Or has manually installed this update and got it to work OK?

Re: Windows 10 Anniversary edition on X220

On my T440, I received the update automatically shortly after aug. 2, and the installation and subsequent operation has been very smooth indeed. On the Compaq desktop of my wife (8 years old), I did not receive the update automatically, so I did it manually using the Media Creation Tool. Also here, ...

T440 crash

My usually very stable and crisp t440 ran into a serious problem. Desktop screen was blinking in and out, and no action would stop it. So I did a hard shutdown (holding the power button pressed). But after startup, the blue BSOD-screen appeared with different possible remedy actions, but none of the...

Re: Lenovo Settings (Power Manager) for Windows 10 on T500

On my T440, I have been using the old Power Manager 6.67.5 installed from file n14u406w which have been working fine, installed using the tweaks described above. But yesterday, opening the PM showed that it is now version 8 (8.00.10) without me (knowingly) have done anything to update. Still working...

T440 Ultra Dock ext. screen

I would like my screen on the T440 (running Win10pro) visible on an external screen (Philips TV) using the HDMI connection from the dock. I have read the other contributions containing the upgrade to firmware 2.30, but the solution is not stable. Occasionally, using this sequence would give a result...

Thanks for the advice. It worked :D .

And I found out, that if I instead of "shutdown" press "restart", the F1 button will give access to the BIOS setup.

T440 - cannot enter BIOS

On my T440, I cannot any longer get into BIOS on booting. It used to be F12, but that no longer seems to work (and neither does F1 or Return). It is upgraded to Windows 10pro. Does anybody know how to get into the BIOS-setup in any other way, as I have to disable the internal battery to change the S...

Re: T60 and win8.1

@Cronus71
No, unfortunately not. The T61 in question does not have a 9-cell-battery, and the smaller battery it does have is not too good. So it would not give a meaningful reference.

Re: T60 and win8.1

Hi Michael, No, I have not seen such a consequence on battery behaviour. I just upgraded a T61 from 7 to 10 for a friend, but it will not be used much so I don't think I will have an answer for that. Only issue was, that it had a Intel 3945abg wifi-card, which I changed to the Atheros alternative as...

Re: I just put Windows 10 on my T61

Just upgraded a T61 to 10 from 7. Fairly complicated process, upgrade failed a couple of times, finally I got it to work resulting in an activated system using the MS media creation tool. Imediately I did a fresh install using the reset option so now it is running smoothly. It had the notorious Inte...

Now I have upgraded the second T60 (1952-CTO) in the family, this one with a Intel 945 graphics adapter. T440

On my primary T440, I was an "insider" in MS terminology and had the GWX-app installed. But no message about upgrade ever came (maybe I'm just impatient), but instead there was 5 attempts in Windows update to upgrade - all unsuccessful. Then I tried this procedure: http://venturebeat.com/2015/07/28/...

Re: T60

It's the driver version 8.383.1.100 - I cannot remember whether it was installed in compatability mode. It survived the upgrade in the DRIVER-folder on C:

But it sure runs sweet - I have not noticed any freezes, but I have stopped the 2 ATI-processes in task manager.

Re: Replace Lithium Cells in a T60 battery

Do not even try - I did :( First the plastics are very difficult to disassemble neatly, but worse is, that the battery holds its own memory etc. If you succeed to connect new cells, the battery will not work. Maybe if one can ensure that the circuitry stays connected to voltage while the exchange ta...

Your T60 will go all the way. I'm just running W10 Technical preview build 10061 on one, no issues whatsoever apart from the graphics driver for the X1300 - but this can be remedied.
