Re: T440/p CLUNKPAD: Pics and installation of T450 Synaptics and Alps Touchpad+buttons Driver

Okay, I spoke too soon. Installation of the Synaptics went fine, but I lost the little red "joystick" button control. D'oh! The touchpad buttons all work fine. I followed the directions above, but when the drivers finished installing, there was a red "x" next to whatever the mouse install was: it fa...

Re: worth putting Win8 on T61?

Okay, so Win 8 64 went on without a hitch, this thing runs even better now. No issues going on, plus, if you get Pro, you can add Media center for free: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs Although it seems everything works just fine, I haven't had time to delve that far into ...

Re: worth putting Win8 on T61?

That's V2.27 BIOS on a T61. If it hasn't been done yet, you should install Middleton's BIOS V2.29-1.08 (it's the 5th BIOS, the first for T61,T61p): http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo/459591-t61-x61-sata-ii-1-5-gb-s-cap-willing-pay-solution-8.html#post6501443 There is no specific W8 BIOS, but th...

Re: worth putting Win8 on T61?

Great discussion, folks! I'm considering putting 8 on this here Frankenpad that Tuus made for me. The question I'm struggling with is the BIOS, it has Lenovo BIOS 7LETC7WW on it. Will that handle Win 8? If not, which one does and can I install it via the 32-bit on here now? Any thoughts? Thanks so m...

As you all know, I am a resolution addict and that's why I have two QXGA R50p's. But they are very heavy and I needed something more portable, and the X series with XGA is out of the question. Too small of a market. Most of enthusiasts, which are most likely to buy a 7200 rpm drive at a premium price, will have moved to a laptop which takes SATA drives by now. How reusable are these (if, say, a fan is moved to a new motherboard)? Where can more be obtained? No issues at all--easily reusable as long as the pink pad remains. AFAIK, if you pull the pink pad off, that black goo will melt all over your graphics chip and then it's a bear to get it off. Oh, and...

Atheros seems to need mini-dock to work correctly.

So here's an odd dilemma. I installed the Atheros card last week as an upgrade, and all was fine. I removed the old drivers, cleaned the registry, installed the new drivers, installed the card, rebooted, and it found the card and all was well. The machine found the two wireless networks I have, a BT...

Check your settings for Format > Cell > Numbers. It's looks like it's seeing the item number as an exceptionally large number and is putting it there as plain text alright, except that it is using scientific notation. 2.70216E+11 is 2.70216 times 10 to the 11th which is very close to the number that...
