Also, it is iastor, not iastorV. Depends on what the Event Viewer reports about the timeout error. As you can tell I'm no expert at this stuff. I checked the event viewer and I didn't really know what I was supposed to be looking for. As I've said before I've never gotten a BSOD. I've had my comput...

Sorry, but I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly. So are you saying that if I delete the iastorv parameters that I'll be able to use turbo memory again? Before I disabled the turbo memory my computer locked up 5 times on maybe 3 or 4 hours of battery usage. After I disabled turbo memory an...

Already been discussed. See this and this Solution is this: For me this fixed the timeout / BSOD problem: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/cs-025783.htm (iaStor not iaStorV) * Disabling APS didn't fix it (tho may have eliminated other BSODs) * Didn't need to uninstall Turbo Memory Driv...

there is no xp driver for the intel turbo memory. If you had configured your notebook on the lenvo website with xp they wouldn't allow you to check the option for intel turbo memory. I don't think it's that big a deal if you just leave it alone. It's actually a good idea so that when vista is out of...

It won't work....I wanted to buy the same cable from ram electronics and had gotten mixed messages from different people as to whether it would work or not. I called ram electronics and some guy told me that alone the cable definately wouldn't work for what I wanted. You have to buy some other conve...

Looks like the $150 I spent on the dock and 25 foot dvi to hdmi wire was useless. I'm hoping that your case is isolated and might actually be a defect with your computer, but I doubt it. Fortunately, the dock isn't so necessary for me. It's more of a luxury as I was looking to have it connect to my ...

You clean installed xp on your laptop? What exactly happens with the turbo memory when you do that? I ordered the turbo memory too and was gonna clean install with xp if I didn't like vista. I was a little concerned about what would happen and if the turbo memory would cause problems with xp running.

I just recieved my advanced mini dock, and I was supposed to recieve my computer soon, but I found out that my computer has been delayed for a few weeks. I didn't even think about the dvi on the dock not being functional. I sure hope it does work or that would've been a serious waste of money. I ord...

says that for the nvidia graphics card, it says that for the pc card slot and media card slot option, and it says that if you choose windows vista home basic. Just got off the phone with lenovo. Sales rep says their is something wrong with the t61's and that the "factory is rejecting them". She says they're working on the problem and that there will be a delay of 2-3 weeks at the minimum. So I'm looking at waiting 2 months to pay more than I was gonna pay...

I don't believe the sales rep's at all. It's been 3 weeks since I ordered and nothing yet. The sales rep will tell you that to get your business. Other people have been waiting a little longer than I have and are just getting emails saying their orders have been delayed. I don't think it'll take til...

It's not looking good for me either. I ordered my system on 5/10 with an estimated ship date of 5/30 and it has yet to ship out. With one day left I wouldn't be surprised at all if I get that 8/30 ship date. I thought waiting a month to get it was way too long. If I have to wait even 2 months to get...

I created another quote today which will lower the price of my computer $160 from its original price, but I'm going to wait til my order ships to actually adjust it. That is interesting. why are people so quick to cancel their orders. Just call and get them to adjust the price. If you're worried they'll change the prices tomorrow then save it as a quote and print a copy with the customer number and order number. Just remember that you can only adjust the price once and the quotes ar...

Are you going to be travelling to law school or will you be staying on campus? If you need portability, going with a 14.1" screen would be the better option. The models that will be coming out will most likely be bigger screens for the t61 and maybe a standard 14" screen. Also, when does your school...

On notebook review one of the admin's has gotten a t61 and has been using it and answering questions. He has the x3100 integrated gpu and he says with normal computer use he got about 3hr 40 minutes with a 6 cell. That means with a 7 cell you should get like 4-4.5 hours, and the 6 and 7 cell are the...

I spoke with Lenove sales today. They said the four and six cell sit flush with the back of the thinkpad but the seven cell sticks out past the back of the PC. He also said with the seven cell and the nvidia graphics card, I'll get close to six hours of battery life. When IBM was selling ThinkPads,...

I was wondering the same things about the difference between a 6 cell and 7 cell battery. How much extra usage time is 1 cell going to give you if it means that something has to be sticking out of the back. I'm not sure it woud be worth it. I tried calling lenovo to ask some questions about th t61 a...
