You 'could' delete them all, then goto the sun website or java.com and get the latest and install it, but as for the total disk cost the end result would be about the same. The updates don't preserve copies of every previous file.

So in other words, there's nothing lost from leaving it alone.

I would suggest the issue is likely with the trackpoint, not the screen.

If the issue is reproducible in Safe mode, then I'd lean toward replacing the keyboard (that will be easier to find than just the trackpoint by itself.

Nolonemo, Yea, that's true, but the cover is removable, replaceable and disposable, and the lid underneath may then still look new or nearly so. Helps resale value a lot when things are in excellent shape cosmetically. I am certainly worried about peeling at the edges however. That's actually the ma...

surprisingly, I've been more than pleased with the Nvidia Fx570m/256 in my T61P in both linux and vista runs everything I want to run very well at the native 1680x1050 resolution, and the vista drivers finally appear to be maturing, as evidenced by the relative lack of glitches and performance issue...

Little offense taken here, possibly because I don't fully understand the comment....or rather the association. But I do have to respectfully disagree, here's why: I'm not really sure if I like this lid skin or not. I don't own one. Opinion not formed yet. I may or may not buy one. Undecided. In gene...

Dunno about that, keeping these lids clean has bugged me for many years, since my first TP, a 365xd. I have a small bottle of eyeglass cleaner and a microfiber towel in my laptop bag, used just as much if not more on the lid than on the screen! And the corners always seem to wear off and become shin...

this works for me in Vista, but I make sure to use the Easy Eject Utility ( <Fn>+<F9>), and close any open files/programs/explorer windows first. Likewise, I Easy Eject the optical drive when I'm finished. The hard drive is seen upon reinserting.

Or just get the latest intel mobile 965 chipset drivers, as I have done. They were the most recent at the time I looked.
You must have the NIC option ROM turned on in the BIOS before AMT remote management will work.

Be aware that there are post Vista release prerequisites that need to be present before installing SP1. I've heard t...

TroySJ, I concur. Any 2. Never all 3 at the same time. <Fn>+<F7> should cycle through all combinations, provided all devices were hooked up at the notebooks power on. You may find the Display manager software useful in you situation (personally I uninstall it)

Apperently it's an nVidia driver issue. Seems to happen in XP and Vista both. I first learned of it after installing non-lenovo nVidia drivers on my T61p, and finding that after a chkdsk/reboot there was no display whilst chkdsk was running. Removed the nVidia drivers and the issue could not be repr...

I resolved a similar symptom on a non-Lenovo centrino notebook by forcing the wifi adapter to stay in 'b' mode. That can be set in the properties for the network adapter in device manager. Is worth a try to see at least.

Yes, I agree it will most likely run.

Running long term, charging batteries fully, those are different questions. But manageable.

Measure the tip. It's not an uncommon dimension.

Ebay, Dalco, Monoprice, Radio Shack, Fry's, et. al..

Consider I=V/R and thermals.

Verify the power 'beep' is enabled on both the BIOS and the thinkpad software.

The T43 is a nice machine, enjoy!!

There is a possibility that you have an, um, aftermarket battery. You may need to replace the battery to resolve the issue.
