Re: USB 3.0 Blu-ray DVD player freezing Explorer on wake-up.
An elegant way to eliminate USB plug and play issues, like I had described in this thread, is to go with this: iDsonix™ 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub with ON / OFF Switch http://www.amazon.com/iDsonix-trade-firmware-backwards-compatibility/dp/B00FDK99QS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388882320&sr=8-1&keywords=iDsonix...

Re: USB 3.0 Blu-ray DVD player freezing Explorer on wake-up.
I finally figured out the cause of my problem.
The green ribbon of death in explorer when clicking on my computer was
Plug and Play related. Apparently it's a known issue:

Hopefully whoever needs it will find some answers here.

USB 3.0 Blu-ray DVD player freezing Explorer on wake-up.
ThinkPad X230 My new USB 3.0 Blu-ray DVD player is causing Internet Explorer 9 to hang on wake-up. If I unplug the drive, things work fine again without a restart or event messages. The drive is a MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ265 USB device, which works great until my ThinkPad goes to sleep (not hibernate). Af...

Re: The ThinkPad I've been waiting for ... (Pic)
One year later ... Long story short, the way I specced my X230 made it a wonderful and fast little machine, and the build quality of my ThinkPad so far, is excellent. I added another 8 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 and the Gemalto smart card reader. As many others, I was skeptical about the new keyboard, but to...

Love, love, loving it. :D That sums it up after 3 months of usage. On my machine all applications open instantly and run super fast. :thumbs-UP: No regrets whatsoever. I do have a question about the Wireless WAN Radio: when I turn it off using the F5 window, WAN sometimes turns on again on ...

Re: The ThinkPad I've been waiting for ... (Pic)
Hello everyone! I am surprised by the mixed reviews I have read regarding the X230. I have had mine for about two months now and I have to say that I love it. I have also been a Thinkpad user for almost 20 years, starting with the 700C ;) I will admit that I was not thrilled about the chiclet-style ...

Hi Barry, this is what shows on my X230 Win7 64:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY\8001]
"File"="C:\Program Files\Lenovo\SimpleTap\BlueButton.exe"
I hope this helps.

Re: What will I miss out on with X220 versus X230?
Thank you ZaZ, I appreciate your input. I'll probably hold off on making a decision until I know the specs for the X230 for sure. I forgot how it was with the X220, but do you think both models X220/230 will be available for order or will the X220 be removed from the product line when the X230 is re...

What will I miss out on with X220 versus X230?
Assuming I can still order a fully specced out X220 what will I miss out on compared to the new upcoming X230 based on the available data? I've been a Thinkpad user for a long time and like many others have commented, I am not a fan of the new chiclet keyboard, so I am thinking of getting a new X220...

Slim Drive and UltraBase Series 3 question
I have done a lot of searching and have also tried to call Lenovo directly to find an answer to my question: Does the UltraBay Blu-Ray Slim Drive (43N3215, 9.5 mm, serial ATA) for the X200 UltraBase also work in the new UltraBase Series 3 for the ThinkPad X220? Also, is the black front bezel on the ...

Re: COULD it be the days of high Quality X200/300 pads is over?
Personally, I wouldn't describe the X200s chassis as "high quality". "Above average", sure, but not "high quality". I own an X40, X60s, X61s, and X200s -- and the last one feels a whole lot cheaper than the others. To be fair, the X60s/X61s clearly have some cost-cutting measures in them when compa...

FAT32 or NTFS for new disk?
Hi guys, I'm going to upgrade my original IBM Travelstar (FAT32) to a new Hitachi Travelstar 7K100GB ATA-6 using Ultraslim Bay 05K5338 HDD adapter. I will be cloning with Casper 5.0. It recommends to use NTFS instead of FAT. Which format should I select? I have a 600X (26459FU), 650mhz, WIN2K, 576 R...

Medicopter, aside from the fixed pixels, how does your new LCD screen compare to your old LCD screen when you look at the color, contrast, and brightness? Sorry guys for my late reply. Quick update: I called IBM today. I'm probably going to order a new display (FRU 46L2209). The friendly tech guy also suggested to first update the video driver. Does this make sense in case of my display problem? Could a corrupt driver cause screen flicker and a washed out (overexposed) display whi...

Well, I ordered a few parts from IBM and replaced all the LCD cables and the inverter card, but no luck. The problem still persists with occasional screen flicker (darker horizontal lines which are random in width) and the display has a kind of overexposed appearance. There are no distortion or othe...
