Try calling technical support at 800-426-7378 and ask for them to send you recovery discs, one of which includes drivers. Technical support operates 24/7 from Atlanta, and I got my recovery DVDs in 2 days when I called them. Hope this helps.

Just got my x61t, have questions on BIOS tweaking

I just received my x61t, C2D L7500, SXGA+, 80GB 5400 and 2G ram. I remember reading posts about tweaking the BIOS to get more battery life but I could not find the post anymore, so it would be great if you could give me some recommendations on the changes I should make. I've went into the BIOS setup...

So is the common concensus that ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe is better in terms of performance and battery life than Intel Pro/Wireless?

I'm curious, in your list you mentioned "OneNote preloaded". I'm not seeing that option on the website, or is Onenote2007 part of the default package?

Warranty Service, should I get onsite or depot?

I would like to ask for your opinions on warranty services. I'm a college student with 2 more years to go and I'm debating whether I should get On site warranty service upgrade or depot Protection Service or On site Protection Service. I'm going to purchase a x61t with american express, which is goi...

Also, if I don't get Turbo memory now, could I order it later? I'm under the impression that it plugs into the expresscard slot.

Is turbo memory worth it?

I will be placing my order for x61t in the next couple of days and I've been doing some searches on Turbo Memory benchmarks. However, I wasn't able to find any and would like to ask for your opinion on whether Turbo Memory is worth the $50 something.

Thanks!

Another question that occured to me is Turbo Memory. If I have a gig of turbo memory, would it act like regular ram? So with the 1 gig turbo memory I could just get 1gb ram for 1 slot for now with similiar performance as 2 gb of ram in 2 slots, right?

So there is really no point to get Draft N capability if my school doesn't use Draft N routers.

Difference b/w 3945ABG and 4965AGN

I'm looking at the x61t page and plan go order one really soon, I'm not sure whether I need 4965AGN. My perception regarding the difference between the two is that 4965AGN is draft N capable and 3945ABG is not. Am I right?

Thanks

ymaker, on the issue of 5400 RPM vs. 7200 RPM, I was reading a post on gottabemobile.com when X60t first came out and if I remember correctly, the number from Lenovo is that you would get about 15min more with the 5400 RPM hard drive on XP. I'd think it's probably the same for Vista.

ymarker, you said the refreshing rate for SXGA is only 50Hz, wouldn't this low refreshing rate induce eye strain? Also, is it worth the $50 to upgrade to c2d from cd?

Should I wait for X61 tablet?

I'm a college student and I'm going to get a Thinkpad tablet. However, I'm not sure whether I should wait for X61 or get the X60 now. I haven't came across any Santa Rosa benchmarks that indicate a noticeable increase in battery life. Therefore I would like to ask for your opinion on whether I shoul...
