Re: YES!
Here's my solution after hours of testing: 1. Turn off Windows Vista TCP auto-tuning (TCP-Window-Size detection) 2. Increase max. number of network connections from 2 to 99999 3. Install patches listed in previous posts speed gain ~ 5000kb/s ^^ TY@ALL I haven't done that since XP. How does one do i...

I sure did. Are they that bad? They look like a cheap case I'd get on the streets of NY for a buck with Thinkpad embossed on it. Where can someone get an actual IBM case? No, I had it in the case in my backpack and all of a sudden I have a huge dent it it. Looks like I'm going to throw this thing o...

Sorry to hear it, but I'm not surprised. I wonder whether or not the internal label is real, but if it is, and real versions of the case have the same label, then it could be that they're illegally sold seconds. I only keep that possibility alive in my mind because there used to be Thinkpad assembly...

-I have one scratch on the lid, it's on the top corner and I'm pretty sure it came from the zip on the sleeve itself. If true, you picked a bad sleeve. :( -The travel bag is a safe scratch-free environment, I don't see how the sleeve improves that. Well, snugness makes a difference. If the bag allo...

CSS Removes Access Connections GUI Repeatedly
I'm not sure why this is happening. I can still configure my adapter via the settings under the wlan taskbar icon, but the independent ACS app is repeatedly removed after CSS prompts a reboot. It started after the System Upgrade app updated several apps, including itself. Then I noticed that, after ...

It is possible. They only have to return it in factory condition. Any part may get replaced with factory replacement parts. Assuming you were responding to my comment... This can't be replaced, except with the same component, so I wouldn't be worried about that. What worries me is if they would pul...

I'd choose a) ThinkPad 11 a/b/g... because Atheros has better range than Intel cards and is more compatible with the OS's that I run. (.e.g Linux). I won't be converting to wireless 'n' in the next (3) years so that feature has little appeal to me. There is an Atheros (Thinkpad) 11a/b/g/n card out ...

Re: Will installing RAM by meself void the warranty?
just bought a t61, will buy more memory and install by myself. Will doing so void the lenovo warranty? Thanks. No it won't. But if you ever send it in for warranty repair, I would remove it first. If you don't, they will. That worries me....if I install the Bluetooth daughterboard, then would they ...

These are real (but used): ebay auction 160151715824 The seller is known here, many people have bought other parts from them. (Search for Nancy, thinkpads-r-us, you'll find quite a few posts). Unfortunately, that picture shows the same case that was pictured in the auction I bid on. That seller is ...

They aren't OEM. They're seconds, or fakes. eBay search: "thinkpad drive case" you get quite a number--most the genuine black, w/ 'thinkpad' embossed in leather on the flap. Part number is 05K4562, very classy:-) The ones you see featuring the part number are mostly the same. In fact, the one madmax...

I researched and started a thread about this earlier and from the responses I received I think it's not a difficult upgrade to do. Then again, I haven't bought the part yet. I'm not necessarily anti-HK sellers but the last time I went that route, when I ordered a 2.5" HD sleeve to USB, I received an IBM logoed (but clearly not an OEM part) box that wouldn't work. I did buy stuff from HK that did work but didn't want to chance it this time. Was that one from eBay or one...

Sir, go with R61. R series has progressed alot, has become almost as identical as T61 with little to no difference in terms of features comparatively, the only downside is; it's appearance is more thicker than T61 but honestly after seeing one in person I would say it's still very portable. I agree...
