Hello there, I need to do this too -- might I ask, which part do you heat up? The trackpad side or the bottom, where the electronics are?

Wow, forgive me for being late to the party, but yes, despite it being 5 years later, I am interested in the modded bios for the X301 too.
Amy possibility for getting it?
I just have to remember how to do the PM thing for the link to that German fella.
Thanks!

Re: UltraLIGHT 180nits LCD For my NON-Ultralight X61s
To replace the non-UltraLight screen with FRU #13N7092 requires replacing the LCD case, the bezel, the LCD cable, and the hinges. The inverter, the antennas, and the bluetooth module (if you have it) can be reused. Yeah, I hear what you are saying, but I thought the process and parts you describe a...

UltraLIGHT 180nits LCD For my NON-Ultralight X61s
So, I wonder, can I replace my NON-Ultralight LCD on my X61s with an ultraLIGHT 180nits LCD? Meaning, are there any physical restrictions/challenges inherent in the cabling bits on these LCDs from what is originally on the laptop? My Laptop, a # 7668-CTO has LCD with: PN # FRU # 42T0434 42T0435 The ...

Re: Half mini pcie slot for an extra SSD?
No, I know exactly what you meant. I am saying I think you are better off using your now spare Fujitsu drive for secondary storage than getting a half mini-pcie SSD. Man, I think what OP is saying, he wanna use a low-cost pci-e ssd card to act as a dumping ground for transient files, like movies......

I'll note that my second power supply (same FRU, but rev C rather than rev E -- and with a gray Lenovo logo rather than black) also runs fairly hot, but the screeching sounds are almost inaudible. Incidentally, the X31 power supply would only ever get warm, not hot. Tom, Wanna try a 90W AC Adapter ...

UltraLight LCD was very tempting for me, but none of the Canadian models included it. So I settled on an X61 instead -- more CPU power, and not that much extra weight (once you compare with the same battery). So far so good! Tom, Isn't the UL screen one of those screens that is highly reflective an...

The fan on my x61s is a bit loud. Seems like each x-series i buy is a little louder than the last one. X22 = virtually silent, X32 = fan was barely audible, X61s = i can hear the fan(s) clearly in a silent room. OK...this is crazy... Can anyone here unequivocally say if the X61 is quieter than the ...

Not correct. On the X3x with X3 ultrabase you can attach a second main system battery to the rear of the ultrabase. The connector is hidden by a removable plastic cover. You get double the battery life because you have two full size, main system batteries. Well, almost...almost 2X the life...but ba...
