Grrrrrr..... I have been absolutely, positively, and purposely avoiding checking out this posting, and hoping against hope that SOMEONE would purchase this and make the temptation disappear, since I need another 12" lappie like I need a hole in the head..... Re: Modified 15" T60 screen cable/inverter for LED screen

Hi Gang. I have built four of these T601 Frankenpads (sold three, kept one for personal use). The mod is easy to do (as long as you have RBS's excellent modified cable/inverter.) I still have two extra complete sets of new Boe-Hydis HV150UX2-100 LED panels and converted cables & inverters, one set o...

Hi Val VQ7 came with mini-PCI Wifi & Bluetooth IV. I've installed the excellent TP-Link TL-WN861 "N" adapter (300 Mbps), but if need be, I can replace it with the original....either "B" or "G", can't remember which it was, but I have tons of them here. The only drawback to the TP-Link unit is the fa...

Hi George! Thanks for the reply/clarification. Yes, my inventory-book comments note "Assembled in the U.S. of U.S. and Non-U.S. Components for Lenovo" on both of the 2668-VQ7 units. I did not understand the significance/history of the assembly location. You are probably correct, as both these T43p's...

Hi. I think I have a pair of 2668-VQ7 units in storage that are close to original and in excellent condition if you are interested. If I remember correctly, they both have excellent UXGA screens and Win XP OEM factory-restored, but they may have been subjected to a hard drive upgrade. Can't be sure ...

Re: X60s/61s Prismatic

Just an FYI... I had four X60T/61T batteries re-celled about a year ago locally with prismatic cells. They came back with the same re-charge capacity (64WH) as the originals, and hold a charge for about as long as did the original cells. I sold one to Ajkula66 and have been using the other 3 batteri...

I've found PC3-12800 speed RAM to be troublesome in some of my Thinkpads.... It seems to work in some models and not in others. Nothing wrong with the RAM sticks per se, just that certain models are picky as to that speed/stick combo. Switching to PC3-1333 seemed to cure the compatibility problems i...

If I remember correctly, the 2.6 ran QUITE a bit warmer compared to the the 2.0 - 2.4 Ghz versions... I would have to dig out my testing notes to verify, since it's been awhile sinc...

Re: Need advice on restoring my T42

The R&R restore set is good.

I just downloaded the 8-disc set and compared to my own T42 R&R set.

I burned the Disc 1 of 1 ISO to a CD using Imgburn. Rebooted the laptop, and it immediately launched into the IBM R&R mode from the newly-burned CD.
