Re: 755 machines with 00201 internal RAM error...?

Did you run the Easy Setup Diagnostics on the base memory (with the IC Dram card removed), or did the error message show on the boot screen?

Re: T30 - Upgrading XGA -> SXGA+

I have a NOS T30 SXGA screen packed away somewhere, but it's in a room full of unmarked Thinkpad parts boxes that I haven't even begun to unpack since I moved a few months ago...

PM if you get stuck finding a screen and I'll see if I can dig it out.

Re: Installing & Activating windows XP Tablet in 2021

Hi Welsh-Tim. As you discovered, the type of installation of WinXP depends on the serial number used to activate said installation... All WinXP installs contain all versions of XP...the install you get, and its' specific features, is determined by the serial number used to activate it. Regards. Dave

Hi.

Try installing the Thinkpad Utilities for DOS, that should supply the battery meter:

Theterminator93, I have the original W2K install disk for my A22m.

I'd be happy to forward an ISO if that would be of any use to you in lieu of W98.

Sounds like you have a 14" planar, which is missing the interposer card. This is an electrically-conductive separate piece of the planar that converts a 14" board for use in a 15" planar. Post a Wanted-To-Buy in the Forum Marketplace, or check eBay. Check here for the part numbers: https://forum.thi...

Hi nokolon. Since you've connected to the Thinkpads Forum, you evidently have an Internet connection on some machine. Use that machine and download the drivers. If for Win 95, 98, W2k, etc, then they are less than 1 Mb, and will easily fit on to a floppy disk, or burn them to a CD. Copy the file(s) ...

I purchased a half-dozen a few years back, and have upgraded different older Thinkpads with them...2 x X41T units, T40, T42, etc. They are a solidly-built adapter (albeit somewh...

Re: Thinkpad 560x refuses to detect hard drives but it powers them - error I9990305 *PICS*

Perhaps your Fujitsu drive needs to be re-partitioned to have a boot partition that the BIOS can see. Try to re-partition your 40 Gb Fujitsu drive with a small (<4 Gb) FAT partition. (FAT32 only with Win95 OSR2, the original Win 95 is 16-bit FAT). These units came originally with only either a 2.1 G...

Re: Startup diskette for a 760C

Your 760C does indeed have a BIOS back-up battery. If the system did not beep on start-up or require a time/date to be reset, then: 1. The original battery is still functioning, or 2. It has already been replaced by a previous owner. If your DOS installation disk is good, then the system will read i...

I have both Thinkpads: an X201 and George's X201s.

In a side-by-side comparison with my eyes closed, I can't detect any difference in the feel of either keyboard.

Hope this helps!

Hi Edward. I will second pkiff's suggestion of the Panasonic UJDA750 DVD Player as a replacement for the stock 770 DVD drive. From my old spiral-bound HMM Vol.3 for the 760-series, CTRL-A gets you into the Advanced testing phase for FDD,Parallel, Serial, PCMCIA and CDROM. CTRL-E prints the error log file, which is stored in memory. No mention made at all of any other key codes for further diagnostics or changes, but I know...
