WiDi 2

Does the T500 have WiDi that permits seeing stuff from the laptop on a television? If not, what will do the job?

Are you sure you checked the mouse properties? You may have only looked at the trackpoint, not at the usb mouse you have installed.

The problem is that by default the mouse is set to awaken the system. Go into device manager and change the setting to disable this activity.

This is often because one of the external devices, the keyboard or the mouse, or both, and the network card, too, is set to awaken the system. Check the settings in device manager and make the appropriate modifications.

It there was the perception by users that this program is too expensive, it wouldn't sell very well. In fact, it is very popular. Bear in mind that this program addresses a niche market. Pricing is based on cost and demand, as well as competition. You might as well call mercedes benz greedy, or gucc...

Though the price seems high it is important to note two things. First, you only pay once. No need to shell put money for new versions as they come out. Second, the program is very well maintained with updates once a month, if not more often. Sure you can buy 4 drives, but you have to put them somewh...

It would make no difference which operating system is in use, xp or vista. This seems to be a battery problem. Let us know, please, what they say when you call.

It is almost child's play to dezone effectively a dvd rom player in a computer. All one needs is a program that interecepts the rpc stuff, so that you never reach the maximum of 5 changes. Anydvd is the one I use, and it is highly regarded. There are others that will do the job; the choice is wide. ...

Your references discuss hybrid sleep, which if enabled disables hibernation because hybrid sleep is a combination of sleep and hibernation. The computer is in sleep mode, but the system has also been saved to hiberfil.sys, so that if there is an interruption of power the computer can be brought out ...

But, hibernation means the computer is off, with everything saved to a file that is used when resuming. I don't see how the operating system makes a difference, except for the time and/or the ease of resuming. No activity is done. The machine is off. It seems to me that the battery is defective. -er

In fact, it was in hibernation, not sleep, so it wouldn't be using any current at all. I realize that in sleep there is a small amount of electricity used to maintain what is in ram.

I don't think has anything to do with which operating system. Hibernation is hibernation is hibernation.

Software does the job of dezoning any dvd on a computer's dvd rom player. Anydvd is among the best known. I use it myself. What such a utility does is to interecept the request to see how many times a zone change has been done, so the dvd plays. Unfortunately, for dvd players it is more complicated....

Adding necessary lenovo stuff to fresh vista install

I had a problem with my t61p when I removed vista sp1 rc. It went into a loop as it tried to uninstall the 3rd item. No way of resolving the problem other than restoring from the hard disk to the factory installation. Therefore, I installed vista ultimate using a dvd, inputting the key, of course. I...

There is a nice solution within firefox, using a plug-in called nosquint. This permits you set the font size for each web site you normally visit. Some, as you know, have smaller size type, others larger, and nosquint solves the problem.
