Doesn't the X220 use the same keyboard as those models as well?

Re: UltraNav driver for new Windows 10 build

Since Windows 10 was released, the default Synaptic drivers are fine, but during the betas the middle button scrolling was not working and the driver was very basic, so I was using one for 8.1. To stop the updates I used PowerShell, as shown here: http://hmemcpy.com/2015/04/preventing-a-certain-wind...

Re: UltraNav driver for new Windows 10 build

I'm using a T410. Maybe this driver is not for your machine, so it does not appear in Windows Update.

Yes, trackpoint pointer speed is available from the UltraNav tab in Mouse Options, and I have not seen a driver that does not have this.

Re: UltraNav driver for new Windows 10 build

The Synaptic drivers supplied through Windows Update for Windows 10 have been good since it was released a few days ago. Now middle button trackpoint scrolling works, even in Metro apps. However, today was another update (19.0.17.2) and nearly everything is fine, but two finger back/forwards trackpa...

Oh, another thing - middle button scrolling does not work in Metro/Universal/Modern UI apps.

It's about time Lenovo released Windows 10 UltraNav drivers.

Re: UltraNav driver for new Windows 10 build

I've been using the UltraNav drivers (v.16.2.19.14) and they work fine on Windows 10. I'm not sure if the T450s is supported. I'm using TPMiddle.exe v0.7 as well, to get the best of both worlds with the trackpoint middle button. I use the trackpad for gestures, but with this driver version, there ar...

UltraNav driver for new Windows 10 build

I have just updated to Windows 10 Preview Build 1012 2 on the Fast Track ring. It's working well, apart from not being able to use any Ultranav drivers without the laptop freezing. When do you think it is likely that Lenovo will release UltraNav drivers for Windows 10? The Synaptic drivers that come...

Re: "Ultimate" X220 obtained :) Looking for advice (*SMALL PIC*)

Now that I have seen the atrocious future of ThinkPad with the new X1 Carbon, I am desperately looking out for another X220, as my previous one has been stolen. It had IPS, fingerprint reader, webcam, SSD, 3 year guarantee, everything. The only thing not making it absolutely top-spec was the top spe...

How do I put the function key caps back on??

I have an X220, which I take good care of, as I really don't know what I'm going to ever get to replace it. I vacuum clean the keyboard two or three times a week, to keep it free from dust. There was a bit of fluff stuck under one of the function keys and I ended up taking the key caps for F9 and F1...

If it has red rubber domes under the keycaps, it's an NMB, which is the one that you want. http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo/634208-thinkpad-keyboard-identification.html Earlier ThinkPads with NMB keyboards had blue rubber domes. @Utwig

Thanks, but that looks like too much effort for something that isn't that important to me.

@farmall

R&R does not work on Windows 8, which I have installed, but I suppose when I reinstall (which I plan to do soon), I could always temporarily install Windows 7 or XP. Cheers.

Re: Enable and customize the blue ThinkVantage button on W8

Kitor, I have been using v3.81 all along, as the newer versions do not work with the Communications Utility (Fn+F6) and do not give the Wireless radio on/off dialogue for WiFi and Bluetooth when Access Connections is not installed (which does not work with Windows 8 anyway), as the newer versions tr...

Yeah, I tried the F11/ThinkVantage key option, but it no longer comes up after the new OS was installed. R&R evidently installs on the OS partition. How do I make a recovery DVD without the original OS?

I reinstalled over the original OS installation that came with my X220, but I did not delete the recovery partition. It is still intact. I didn't make the recovery DVD at the time and I didn't have a USB DVD burner available and there didn't seem to be any way for it to make an .iso image instead. N...

Re: X220 Fn keys don't work with Windows 8

What I have done is used the latest hotkey drivers, which are for Windows 7 and Windows 8, but run the installer in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode, so it doesn't try opening the unavailable Lenovo Settings app. To get the hotkeys working, you only actually need the OSD component of the package. No it's not. The top row is no longer function keys by default and act as special functions like on the Edge and X1xxe series. The keyboard is now even worse than in the '30 generation.

Re: When can we expect a successor to X230?

I think that's actually the T431s, judging by the areas on the sides of the keyboard. It looks like a 14" screen rather than 12". It looks like the MacBook style hinges still allow it to open to 180 degrees, which is something some people were wondering about for some reason. The 5.5 row keyboard an...

The X230s does look nicer than previous models, which is the whole reason for this outrage, but at the cost of practicality and ergonomics (and most probably durability), just like an Apple product. However, aesthetically speaking, having the logos on the lid flipped over the other way just looks wr...

Re: When can we expect a successor to X230?

It should have called it the X240, as it has a new chassis, but the naming scheme seems to be yet another thing they are screwing up. There is so much wrong with the T431s that I hold no hope for the future of the X-series either. What they are doing to the ThinkPad brand now makes the new keyboard ...
