Lots of W520's have three WLAN antenna's but have card installed that only take two. The connector of the 3rd antenna is then stored in that round area, usually with some tape on top. But someone really messed things up there...

Lenovo doesn't sell the fans separately. But search eBay for 60Y5493 and 60Y5494, those are the FRU's listed by the HMM as "Thermal module for W510".
