Adam,
Thanks for the links! Sounds like I just have to live with it. The 'beep' can indeed be disabled, but the 'n' th character will still not display until you take your fingers off one of the other keys. Kind of lame in my mind, but I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too.

no programs that i've installed... this happens straight out of the box. i'm not a really fast typist, i just notice it most when i type 'sound' and 'country' without lifting my fingers from the keys. as noted in my earlier post, there are other combinations that do the same thing, such as 'a+s+d+f+...

O+U+N = Beep on X40?
Haven't figured this one out yet... if you hold down the O+U+N keys together you get a loud "system/bios" speaker beep. It seems to happend with other key combinations as well. I've disabled the accessibility options, but still no luck. Anyone out there know how to disable this?

No Problemo. I purchased mine on 12/1 and received it on 12/21. At the time of purchase, they offered the x4 dock at no additional cost. Make sure you add the lappy to your cart and then click on the 'add options' button in the cart. From there, you should see a drop-down list of the current promoti...

Hi, I've got the 2371-H9U with the dock and CD combo drive. Here are some of my observations: 1. The IBM a/b/g card based on the new Atheros II card is awesome. The range on that card is better than the Cisco stuff I use at work. 2. If you are a student/faculty/alumni you can get this unit for a goo...

Multiple SSID's with a single Profile...
Does anyone know if it's possible to have two SSID's associated with a single IBM Access Connections profile? This can be done with WinXP Zero Config for wireless, but I'm not seeing a way to do it with the IBM software. Any help would be greatly appreciated, TIA!

if your X40 came with 256 MB of RAM, then the max RAM capacity is 256+1024 = 1280. If your X40 came with 512 MB of RAM, then the max RAM capacity is 512 + 1024 = 1536. The base amount of RAM (256 or 512) is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be changed/removed, but there is a single SO-DIMM slot...

Bag/Case for X40 + X4 dock
I have read several posts from people requesting bag recommendations for their X40, but they don't seem to be from people that take their X4 docks with them. I would like to here what people use to carry their X40 and their X4 dock. I'm most interested in top loading bags, but might entertain a back...

Well, I am down to: 1.) X40 2386E9U, 1.40 Dothan, Wireless B/G or: 2.) X31 26735KU, 1,70 Banias, Wireless B (upgraded to Wireless G). The X31 costs about $400+ more than the X40 unit, so I am inclined to go with the X40. The only thing holding me back is the slow 4200rpm hard drive. If I go for an ...
