Can I add an "msata" drive to my T510? and more ?'s...

Use it as my primary boot drive? I have a T510 4313-cto that was ordered without WWAN. From what I understand, I have the available slot, but I have not seen any posts about the T510 and an msata drive. 1) Is this even possible on my machine? 2) Is there a way to configure it in a mirrored RAID arra...

Re: The BEST Set of Replacement Screws for your Thinkpad T4X 15"

Art, I really wish I knew that they had used, but I sincerely hope that this particular tech has since found another line of work. Part of the problem may be that they never replaced the screws when servicing the machine, only reused the old ones. I couldn't imagine using a 1.5 or 2mm hex on bicycle...

Re: The BEST Set of Replacement Screws for your Thinkpad T4X 15"

Mike, Thanks for your reply. I did not call back to complain to that support supervisor, but I did follow it further up the chain. On my T43, it would seem that every part is structural, and the screws are a necessity. In looking back, I would say that there probably were some missing screws, as wel...

The BEST Set of Replacement Screws for your Thinkpad T4X 15"

This is not a commercial post, nor is it a for-profit venture. I had a horrible experience whereby IBM Easy-Serv left me with 5 stripped-out screw heads on my Thinkpad T43P, and I had to remedy it myself. (see my post here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=91965 ) After having to dril...

Re: Easy Serv RUINED my Thinkpad

Mark, Thanks for getting back to me, and I'm sorry that I didn't check back here sooner. I got in contact with Terry McCarthy at Lenovo Executive Relations. Where I had already taken the machine apart, there wasn't much opportunity for him to help out with it, but he did offer some assistance on my ...

Easy Serv RUINED my Thinkpad

Hi All, I guess I have a little bit of a rant, and could use some advice in how to effectively bring this issue to the attention of the folks at Lenovo. Being a business owner myself, I really find it hard to believe that there's nobody there who cares, but that's how I'm starting to feel. My venera...

I bought a "refurbished" 600 series battery from the ebay user "strengthlaptops". The one I bought was listed as a 3200mah capacity, but I have a feeling the replacement cells are the higher capacity ones. For $19.99 (shipping included) I got a battery that lasts for over 3 hours in my 600x. I don't...

New LCD was exactly what the Dr. ordered. I'm sorry Dave, but I didn't have the camera with me when I replaced the LCD and I was anxious to see if that would solve the problem. If someone has a nice shot of a gutted 600x base and an empty lid, I can make some little lines in MS Paint. -Joester- For ...

If the price is right Davemci I might be interested, might be the easiest way to figure it out. I routed the wires on the top of the cable chase that is beside the pcmcia slots, then up to the hinge on the right side where the flex cable goes. I coiled the wires a few times to give myself some slack...

I think I broke my LCD...

I took my 600x apart in order to install wi-fi antennae in the lid. I had actually replaced the LCD in this laptop last year, so I was perfectly familiar with the removal and reinstallation. After I got everything back together and powered it on, I noticed a horizontal gray line had appeared across ...

Pretty much what I had thought to be true, but I would still like to hear any of the opinions or possibilities out there. As for the "refurbished" battery, it has most certainly been opened and glued back together. I'm not sure, however, if they replaced cells, circuitry, both or none.

600x Battery and Charging Questions

Hi All, I inherited a 600x and plan to use it on the road for some auto service work that I do. I had my own 600e back in the day, and remember the battery issues that seem to come with these machines. The machine came with an original battery that holds a charge for about 10 minutes before quickly ...

thanks for that. I've tried the search feature...

and couldn't necessarily find a concise answer to my question of "which fru # is the latest and greatest"

Sorry if I missed it but some of those threads are pretty long and I would assume outdated.

Best Battery for the 600X?

Hi All... I was just given an old 600X to play with, but I am in need of a battery. I remember having plenty of battery issues back in the day when I had a 600E of my own. What I'm wondering is if anyone has built a better battery for these things and where to get one. Is there one particular FRU # ...
