A much easier solution would be to borrow their recovery CD/DVD set and re-install everything on your machine

i have changed my HDD because the other was out.
Then, i used my recovery disk, everything is ok but it didn't create the hidden partition.

Where is the problem ? what can i do ?

Hi everybody, i've got a little problem, i can't connect myself on wireless network with my laptop(T42-2373). I can see in the taskbar the network manager icons wich say me "no available network" but when i click on it, i see that laptop has detected some networks but when i click on them it doesn't...

just to say that i managed to use my laptop with knoppix live cd (thanks linux), now i'm still using it, so it's an alternative solution
