Yeah, they're the same. Seems like a good number of the new Lenovos are going with that connector now.

EDIT: They were the same for the Yoga 2, but with Yoga 3, they switched to this pseudo USB port power connector.

X1 Carbon (1st gen) CMOS battery dead?

Has anyone else with the 1st gen X1 Carbon had their CMOS battery die already? The date in my BIOS has been resetting every time I leave the machine powered off and unplugged. I found it odd that the battery has died having owned the machine for only two years. Right now, the machine will power on a...

Would it be possible for you to share a picture of the screen after removing the film?
My 3rd gen X1 Carbon is arriving in two days, and I'm kinda on the fence about removing the film.

Re: Which AC adapter for X1 Carbon w/ WQHD non-touch display?

That's rather disappointing that the new Carbons only ship with 45w bricks. My 1st gen X1 Carbon came with a 90w brick. I'm personally glad I got the 45W adapter: it's so much smaller than the 90W one, so better when you want to travel light. If that's your sole power brick, then yes I would agree ...

Re: Which AC adapter for X1 Carbon w/ WQHD non-touch display?

I assume that it'll simply take longer to charge on the 45w charger. It's also possible that the laptop can only charger with a 45w while off, as in the case with the W530 when charging with a 65w or 90w charger.

Right angle adapter for the rectangular charging plug

Is there a version of this right angle adapter for our rectangular charging plugs? I use a 90w slim power adapter with my X1 Carbon. With the rectangular power tip adapter, non-flexible part of the plug is around 5cm, and any accidental tug on the cable creates a lotta unwanted stress on the port it...

I'll probably get the Gen3 X1C. 8gigs of RAM is a little tight, but no deal breaker. Glad they restored the Function keys and the buttons on the top of the touchpad.

I was able to check out a new 2nd gen X1C, and really didn't like the changes they made, especially the removal of the trackpoint buttons at the top of the touchpad. That was a deal breaker for me. Guess I'll be sticking to my 1st gen X1C for the time being. :|

You could consider high capacity high speed SDXC cards perhaps?
They're coming down quite a bit in price, and your Thinkpad would still be shockproof.

Does the miniDP port support daisy-chaining? I'm not sure what version the DP is, but if it's 1.2, it should support Multi-Stream Transport, which allows daisy-chaining with the proper monitor support. The spec sheet for Ivy Bridge chips indicate that they do support DP 1.2 The problem with all the ...
