Overall, once you figure out how the process work....IBM has been great. The #1 most important thing you need to do is Phone IWS and have them authorize your repair with the service station. If the service station is not authorized for your repair ahead of time, they can jerk you around. Next move i...

I've been to this service station in Bangkok before to have my keyboard replaced (the space button didn't work properly). I told them I was under warranty and that I shouldn't have to pay for the replacement. I believe there were some language difficulties between us and the clerks, but I ended up h...

Actually it was US customer support who couldn't help us. They told us there was nothing they could do because my laptop was registered in Canada and I was in Thailand. I told them I was permantly moved to thailand that that I'd like to change my address. They told me to phone IBM support in China b...

After the run around by a couple people on the American Support line we managed to get the number for the thai IWS. We talked with them and they arranged the exchange to new working parts. Of course when we went to pick them up, they didn't have the proper ones in stock, but they were kind enough to...

IBM 3 Year On-Site Warrenty No Good Out of Country?

I bought two t61p's for my business in preparation for taking myself on the road for 2 years. I live and work for my internet business with my colleague abroad. Currently we're in Thailand and plan to move to Czech Republic in the next while. We bought the accidental damage ThinkPlus 3 Year Onsite 9...

I run a nomadic web business myself. I've got 1 bag brimming with computers and electronics. The other is 100% clothes except for my Bose portable iPod speaker. I'm just waiting for the first security guy who stops me. I know it's bound to happen. So far, so good though. Knock on wood.

If i need to install something on the desktop computer first, this is no good to me....as I don't currently (nor will i have) a monitor for it.

The only reason I need this to work, is so i can get remote desktop to work from my laptop. I know how to do that.

How do i use my t61p as a monitor for another computer. Is this even possible and if so....how? twas the base cover. IBM wouldn't send me one that I could bring to the shop and have them install it. The shop wouldn't order me one with out charging me or holding my laptop. I ended up fixing it myself. It seems the drive latch got out of it's rail guides and i had to snap it back into place with...

Turbo memory is worthless, in my opinion. I would remove it until Vista SP1 fixes its problems, and even then I'd be sure to reasearch it before trying to using it again. Don't confuse Turbo memory with ReadyBoost, which uses flash memory to cache hard drive information. ReadyBoost may indeed speed...

Intel Turbo Memory and WinXP Professional

Appears only Vista supports Intel Turbo Memory. I bought my laptop with WinXP and the Turbo Memory. Can i use the turbo memory for anything? Or should i just take it out? If i could use it as normal flash memory that would be great. I could put my page file on it or allow photoshop to use it for it'...

Will my warranty cover this?

I have the 3 year accidental damage warranty. I also bought the in-depot repair. Can i uninstall 500mb High Definition Audio Driver Package?

I removed, office 2007, norton (both trials) ...but i noticed this large package. There's a 500mb High Definitio...
