Thanks for the replies. the first problem was that when I removed the fan it must of loosened the CPU from the socket. I removed the fan again and unlocked the CPU and pushed down and relocked. That allowed me to run the BIOS until the CPU overheated. When I took the fan out again I did not use any ...

t30 will now run for 30seconds to minute than shut off
I went through all of the devices I removed and rechecked them. I pushed down on the cpu and re-locked it.
Now the laptop will start up and I can get to the Bios to change the date and time and the laptop shuts off.
I have tried it several times with the same results.
What did I mess up?

I printed out the IBM manual for the T30. My thinkpad T30 the fan does not work anymore. I am trying to find out how to replace it. Is there a website I can go to and find a instruction sheet.
