Thanks for the answers!
For the Europeans: is €550 for a brand new T410 (with the specs I mentioned above) a good deal?

Backlight problem
Hello, my Thinkpad T60 has a problem with the backlight. At first the screen looked a bit reddish for the first couple of minutes after the booting up. Some days later, the screen turned black after using it for some time. I could get the screen back to normal by putting the T60 into sleep and wakin...

Second Life doesn't work on my T60 with Ati X1400
Hello,
when I start the game Second Life, it crashes.
Other games like Fifa, Half-Life 2, Command and Conquer 3 work all fine.
My T60 has an Ati X1400 with the 8.442.3 drivers.
Is there anyone who has Second Life working or who knows a solution?
Thanks

How can I make the hotkeys work?
When I play music with Windows Media Player while browsing the internet, pressing Fn and the arrow stops my music. I have configured foobar2000 and VLC to use this hotkey. But it only works when foobar2000 or VLC is on the foreground, not when it's playing music in the background. How can I make it ...

is this a good deal?
Hello,
I can buy a new Thinkpad T60 (2 year warranty) with the following specs:
- 14.1 inch
- 1400x1050
- Dual2Core T7200 2.0GHz
- ATI X1400
- 1GB RAM
- CD-RW DVD-ROM
- 120 GB HDD
Do you think that 900 euro for this Thinkpad is a good deal?
Or should I give less?
Many thanks

It the exact difference varies from application to application, but in general it's about 20% faster for the Core 2. In my opinion 20% is really a big difference. However, I doubt if I would really feel the difference while editing documents, playing games... Besides, a Core Duo 2GHz is still a fas...

big difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo?
Hello, I want to buy a second hand Thinkpad T60 (it must have the next specs: 14 inch, 1400x1050, ATI X1400 and a decent processor). I have come across an interesting advertisement, but this T60 has an Intel Core Duo 2GHz processor. Is there a big difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo? Is perha...
