Thanks, I did get it to work, but I'm not sure if there was any "magic" to it. It may have been after a full power off... But it may just have been my timing with it. It took a few more tries. Maybe with the newer faster processors it is a smaller window of time. Who knows, at least I got it. Thanks!

Getting to safe mode with a T60

I can't seem to get my T60 to give me the safe mode boot prompt...

I use F8 like typical XP setups, no? It doesn't seem to work on this machine... it appears to just ignore my holding of F8. I tried doing it sooner but just got the "stuck key" message on powerup.

What am I missing?

UPDATE: Well, I found a workaround... In the BIOS, if you select "inactive" as opposed to "disabled" for the security chip, it seems to be fine. What that tells me is, even though CSS says it's been un-installed, there is some sort of handshaking going on anyway. As if there is some service starting...
