You think that screen is bad, the T60 14" XGA panel's colour reproduction is abysmal! It really "pales" in comparison (pun intended) to my external Samsung 940BW WXGA, which has AMAZING colour reprod.

i would double check the temperatures. perhaps thermal transfer pad or paste is missing or defective on the heat pipes. does it stay running for any decent contiguous amount of time? dirty battery connectors? defective battery?

HM250JI actually has a similar internal max read/write as the 7k200, and a much faster (35MB/sec) minimum transfer rate, with absolutely minimal heat and virtual inaudibilty. I researched heavily before being totally set on the HM250JI, and no regrets whatsoever.
