Hello from Bellevue ... :D I would recommend using Microsoft tool "Bootvis" to troubleshoot the issue. Bootvis can show a nice time graph that shows what happens during the entire boot process. Bellevue... how's it going? I bet holiday traffic's ridiculous out there by the Square right now. Thanks ...

Why is the startup wav and battery meter taking sooo long?

So, I just did a clean install of XP, installed all the ThinkPad drivers and whatnot. One of the only things I didn't install, though, was Access Connections. Windows startsup pretty quick I'd say... maybe under 10-15 seconds. The only problem is that the actual Windows startup sound/wav doesn't eve...

Is it possible to pair one 5300 RAM with one 4200 RAM?

I have one faulty bar of RAM, and I need to buy a new stick of RAM to go with my existing working one. I'm wondering if it'd be a problem to have different speeds working together? My current one is 4200. If I add a 5300 one to it, is it problematic? Or does it not matter if they match? And actually...

How to find the part number for the palm rest/bezzle?

I need to replace the palm rest, as I accidentally broke the right touch pad button when trying to clean it, and it's all one piece. I've found some ebay auctions that seem to have it, as well as some third-party websites, but none of them have actual photos. And the one auction I found with a photo...

Audio lag/delay upon Windows startup?

I've just finished installing all of my drivers after a clean install of XP. One thing I noticed was that recently upon a reboot/startup due to driver installations, the Windows startup wav file is lagged quite a bit... maybe 10-15 seconds. And if a notification window pops up, the little ding wav s...

Yes or No: Should I install the ATi Radeon driver(September)

...or install the old one instead? I keep reading about all these problems. I just did a clean-install of XP, so I'm updating all of the drivers right now. Before I do the video ones, I want to make sure I'm not making a big mistake.

Possible to replace trackpoint buttons? Cost?

So, I was trying to remove the right button below the trackpoint and I accidently broke a hinge that I didn't know existed, and now it won't lock into place. Is it possible to order a replacement part?

IMHO - display, I'm not comfortable with 15,4" so comment withheld. - 256 nVidia, can't hurt except maybe temp. and battery life. - 2GB RAM should be fine, as you say you can upgrade later, or, order with 1 GB and upgrade "cheaper" to 3 GB - No the DVD burner in the Z60 is ultrabay enhanced, the T6...

Does it matter if I install -all- of IBM's Wireless drivers?

When I did a search for updates and such on IBM's site, 5 results came up for Wireless. If I install all five driver packages, will it pose and problems?

BSOD issues... could it be my harddrive?

Alright, so I've been suffering through a seemingly random BSOD issue for about a month now. I'll detail the occurence, and then I'll detail the steps I've taken to correct it: The occurence: First, my specs: Z60m, Windows XP Pro, 2Ghz, 2GB, ATi 128mb, 15.4", DVD RW. It seems to happen almost random...
