T40 Power light flickers

Hello, Got a t40 with wierd power issue. When you hit power button, the light just flickers (on-off). The fan will actually move tiny little bits to the flickering. My guess is short of course. It doens't seem to be the usual GPU issue, fuses all look good. Swapped ram/cpu/ and powerjack. Does this ...

Swapped keyboards, tried using dock to power it up. Nothing. Systemboard is clean, no liquid or visible burn...

T61 LCD Bezel Removal Bezel tips wanted

Hello, I'm a laptop tech that works on T61's from time to time. I Can replace them without blowing the fuse, (for you unfortunate to blow the fuse, you know what i mean). However, i notice I'm having issues with removing the LCD bezel and I'm breaking clips. The t61 is a little unique, in that it ha...

Re: T61 Nvidia Graphic Card dieing? Or LCD? Help please

Just curious, ran into a bad GPU on a t61 about a month ago, notice quite a few others on the forums as well. Is there a reason this is failing. The old t40 issue was European led conversion. Just curious why this is happening, lenovo/ibm is usually pretty good about fixing issues like like that. Th...

Re: T60 with 4 steady beeps, then turns off

It's out of warranty. Yes, it's a default answer, much like the one they use to give for the crc175 error code "bad board"... But you could eprom those chips to fix, i was hoping someone had some experience with fixing the security chip issue. I don't see a lot floating around on the net, and i hate...

Re: T60's palm rest not fixed properly ..Where is wrong?

There are tabs on the underneath of the touchpad. The male and female slots need to line up, then you it'll close flush. Most likely, you bent one of them, and it's keeping it from a flush close. Just bend them back into place with a flat head, its a common mistake. Screws are all the same size, so ...

One year warranty on my T61 expires... how do i upgrade it

Hello, I work on a lot of Lenovo's and this question comes up a lot. "how do i upgrade my warranty". I know for the older T4x models, you could buy a warranty for your machine, (they came with 3 year warranties). Example, Fru: 41C9180 Lot of good posts I noticed on the forums. I'm familiar with IBM ...

Does it with out HD plugged in, and HD interface soldier is tight. Ram, swapped, so that rules out that as well. (ram sockets are fine). I've had this error in past, usually it's the incomputable network card. This is different, since it can't be cleared by using f9 defaults. And it originally had a...

Resource Conflict - Allocation error static node #00

Hello, i have an IBM T23. Type 2648-EU2 I originally had a power issue. The power would turn off after a few seconds, screen would not light up at all.. You would hear the initial Post Beep. That's it. Took it apart, reset all cables/HD/Mini-pci cards, ram, and then reset CPU. It fires up now. BUT> ...
