I upgraded an old T42, removed the old 2.5" PATA disc and added a PATA-to-mSATA SSD adapter with a mSATA SSD; price USD $ 3.18. Has tested under Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.06 + Win 7 - all works fast and without problems. Also, I did run a Asssd disc test under win7 - see attached photo. For extra security...
