Thanks again. Interesting. At the link, it says it's possible to modity it to standard USB. Also has the diagram of the pins. I will try it once i get my webcam. Once again, after I get my t21 up and running. For now will try to see if I can get the webcam to work with external usb port.

Ultraport?
I came across a thread mentioning about Ultraport on the T2*. Is my understanding correct? It is some kind of USB port? One member install webcam on it. I haven't taken my T21 apart yet, but does mine have it to? I just order laptop webcam just to play with it, it would be cool to install that on th...

Re: T21 upgrade/mod
Ok, what could be the issue here when you can't even get into the BIOS.
There's 2 options during start up. F1 or something to BIOS setup and F12 i think to select boot device. None of them works. Just came up with those 2 msg i mentioned earlier. Is the BIOS chip replacable?

You're saying it will take it? Even tho the manual say max is pc100@512(2x256)?rkawakami wrote:The memory required to get to 1GB (2 x 512MB) means that you would need to install high density PC133 modules, something the T21 will choke on.

Hi, I just got me a T21. I check IBM's manual and it said the cpu range from 750, 800, and 850 with max of only 512mb of ram. Searching this site also discover people upgrading their T20 to T21/T22 1ghz cpu. So what can I do with my T21? At moment I have 2 error I need to take care of (175 and 188)....

Re: trouble shoot lcd screen
It's not mine. My in law came to me to see if I can trouble shoot it. Since I had a spare LCD, I thought I switch it and see, etc. After unsuccessful fix attempt, I gave it back to him and have him send it in and pay for repair. Hopefully it's only LCD, inverter or video cable.

Most screen has 30 pins. If the screen is in good working condition, shouldn't it work with any laptop just like monitor works with any pc? Let say that inverters and video card is also working correctly. testing t500 15.4 with working acer 15.6 screen laptop. with acer inverter, lights come on but ...

Thankyou RBS.

Both give 3V, and are widely available if you don't need cables attached.

I have one of the series, mine is 2621, very similar tho. Once you close the lid it becomes stand alone cd player. Other than it's big and bulky it's pretty nice design. Mine has a night lite above the LCD where a modern webcam is. Crucial memory said my max is 512 ram. One thing I like a lot about ...

512 pc100 low density
I saw on Ebay that they make 512mb pc100 low density now. I know a lot of TP has gone beyong it's max using 256mb low density. I was wondering has anyone tried the 512mb low density? I have tp 1300 that pc100 256 works, but I fried it. Since 512 is only a couple dollars more, i would just get the 512.

I was wondering could the ultrabay battery replaced any optical drive? I did a search here and someone mentioned thinkwiki.org, but on the website they said i1200/i1300 optical drive is not removable, untrue.
I have i1200/i1300 model 1171.
