I am successfully running an 802.11G wireless PCMCIA card on my T23. It's a 3Com OfficeConnect card and I got it off ebay for $20. It does WPA2 which is what I was looking for, but it will absolutely NOT work with Access Connections (believe me I've tried). I am using the 3 Com utility that comes wi...

And to answer the inevitable follow up question:

No, there is no 9.5mm ultra bay slim drive currently available that will burn the DVD+ formats.

If you need +rw or +r capability the ultrabay slim burner that is offered will not do that. You would have to go with an external USB2 option.

Isn't the reconditioning method IBM describes the same thing as a deep discharge? I have never had good success trying to deep cycle the Li battery, it never gains back any watts. I also have noticed that my laptop runs for another 20 or so minutes once the gauge reads zero, even with a battery that...

Corrected my post. I just don't want people reading the thread and then purchase the wrong drive for their T40+, seeing how expensive even the Ultrabay 2000 ones are.

Just to reiterate, the drives listed in the post above WILL NOT FIT the T40 or higher series laptops as they are Ultrabay 2000, not Ultrabay Slim.

There is NO +r or +rw burner available for our late model T series laptops.

My 2373 s pretty old and it came with the antenna. I didn't think any came without them.

I also have the older a/b/g card and use it with no SSID and with WPA-PSK without problems. Access connections doesn't always find a new network un-hibernating but aside from that it's rock solid.

I have been waiting for this type of +rw drive for a year now. It's a little upsetting when all the other laptop manufacturers offer this capability and have offered it for over a year.

Maybe Lenovo will address this problem...

I have the same problems with Access Connections not recognizing a new network after hibernate, it takes a few manual forced retries for it to log on properly. Also my palm hotsync app sometimes will not sync over the IR port after waking up my T40 from hibernation. I put up with both of these probl...

I of course tried to put it back, it would not stay on. I called IBM and they DHLed me a new keyboard overnight. The old keyboard was made in China, this one is made in Thailand. There are some threads in this forum about the differences, I certainly prefer the new Thai one as it feels more sturdy. ...

Left Nav mouse button popped off

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/njdsm2/T40Navkey.JPG I looked pretty carefully at the key and nothing appears broken, is there a clip or something that's supposed to hold it on? This is on a T40. It's a very annoying problem as the key will pop up slightly every time I click a link and shift enough n...
