Did it completely solve the USB2 problem or it's just temporarily?

I have the exact same problem with my T40 and I gave up on this one. Now got a PCMCIA USB/Firewire card.

That way, I think you should set some vRAMs. Make sure it's fixed in size and stored in a non-system partition.

I have 1GB RAM and I disabled virtual RAM. It works flawlessly.

I am happy with my ZeroShock.

My T40 started to have USB 2.0 problem a couple of days ago. I tried to bring it back to factory content, update all the drivers, but occasionally, the problem occur again and again.

I am almost desperate now.

So you mean this is probably a software issue instead of a hardware one?

My almost-2-years-old T40 recently had the same problem, and I don't have a clue yet.

I wonder if PC2-3200 RAMs will be able to function on a T40.

My T40 originally use PC2100 RAM, and was tested to be working with PC2700 and PC3200. I just don't know if it will work with PC2-3200.

But the finger recognization system will be released with new T42. Will T42 use ATI M11? Probably not. Blah, blah,...

As long as it's an IBM, and it's within its warranty, you can extend the warranty from IBM. And the price for that should be the same. Probably it will be 10% less if you order the warranty online. At least it's the situation in Canada.

After installing Hotkey, volumn/brightness/light should be working okay.
