That would probably be the member here called TuuS. Good guy.
Yes, I believe that's the person who sold the board. Found it via this website: https://www.theboardroom.info/t61mobo.html

T61p motherboard finally died...

After close to 13 years of ownership, my 14.1" 4:3 T61p with 1400x1050 matte screen finally died. It was running well one night when I left it on. Came back to a completely dead computer the following morning. To cut a long story short, the FX570m GPU finally gave up the ghost. I spent about a month...

I don't watch movies or play games with my T61p 14". It's true that the LCD display quality isn't really up to snuff with some of today's newer offerings, but depending on what you use your computer for, it could be very well accepted. In my opinion, I think the T61p 14" LCD is fine for general comp...

It should be the first option available under POWER settings in your BIOS. Enabling it will cause a disclaimer screen to appear.

I'm curious... perhaps this thread should be moved to the Vista section after, but was wondering if someone may have an answer to this question. When the laptop is in sleep mode, do event timers such as hibernate still function if the BIOS option to ignore system events when NOT on AC power is enabl...

Out of curiosity, how much more battery life would one expect to gain with choosing the 140M over the 570? I have a 14.1" T61p, and find that with two batteries (a 9 cell and ultrabay battery), I'm only getting about 4.5-5 hours tops.

I have a 14.1" T61p. I used to have an A30, which was a tank. Very good build quality on that. My T61p is decent, although there are a few quibbles which would really qualify as nitpicking. For example, the LCD doesn't look completely centered within its frame. It's maybe a pixel or two canted, and ...

Thanks for the tip Ray. I'll check my video drivers, although I doubt that could be the problem.

I checked the BIOS settings; all seem normal. There must be some kind of resource or service preventing the computer from hibernating only when running on battery power. As I said before, hibernating while connected to the AC adapter works fine. I'm trying to figure out what could be preventing hibe...

OK.. this is even stranger. After running some tests, I've noticed that the computer will automatically hibernate on AC power. Switch over to battery, and the computer will not automatically hibernate. Any suggestions?

Hibernate doesn't kick in automatically...

Strange. It used to work. I had power options set to Hibernate after 30 minutes on battey. Now, the computer goes to sleep as usual, but will not hibernate automatically. If I force the computer to hibernate manually, it will do so without any problems. Can anyone suggest what to check when diagnosi...

So either 1.5 or 3 will work? Any advantage to using SATA-3? Will the data bus in our laptops support it fully?

T61p replacement hard drive

Just curious to know what type of interface the T61/p systems use for the hard drive? Is it SATA 1.5, SATA 3, or ATA-6?. I'm looking at a Hitachi 200gb from Newegg as a replacement, and it is spec'd at SATA 1.5 There's also a Seagate Momentus 200gb, but uses a SATA 3 interface. Will either one work?...

Access Connection problem

I have override settings enabled, and IP information set. It transfers my IP address, DNS servers, and subnet information properly to Vista, but alw...

Looks like I got the problem solved. Had to do clean install of Vista by using the system restore function. I also did not update to all of the latest drivers available from Lenovo. Seems that installing all of the updates available for download screws things up.

Hmm, very strange. Not sure what to make of this then. I used the computer for about 4 hours yesterday evening on battery, but no freeze as I made sure to not move the computer. I don't believe this to be a battery problem either. I'm actually running on two batteries; 9 cell and ultrabay. Perhaps I...

I have never had any problem with Turbo Memory. I updated all the related driver to the latest version on the Lenovo website. Do not use the driver straight from Intel. T61p - bluetooth screw?

Noticed that when I unpacked my T61p, there was a plastic bag containing two screws. On the bottom of the laptop, there is a screw hole near the right rear side of the laptop with nothing in it. What are these screws for? I checked the included literature that came with the laptop, and there's no me...

Hi Ryengineer, I understand that the technology is still in its infancy. However, I guess what I'm trying to understand is why some with T61's with Turbo Memory and Vista never have any problems, while others do. Obviously there are differences in computer configurations, but is this freeze a hardwa...

T61p - battery freeze problem

Hello all, I'm a new 14.1" T61p owner, and have a problem with the machine freezing on battery power. I've done some tests, and have noticed that this problem occurs when certain variables are in play: 1. Turbo Memory is installed and working 2. Windows Hybrid Disk Power Saver is on 3. Using the Int...
