Hi,
Could you please post more details on how you managed to get your spacesaver to work. I'm trying to install mine using this driver on windows 8 with no luck...
Thanks

Re: T400 and Linux
i think you should have a look at this i'm not sure how to describe the performance that i'm getting on my machine but one thing for sure - i find it satisfactory, i never did any benchmarks cause i think they're pointless but for the fun of it i tried and i get around 300fps on glxgears q: and 30 s...

the keyboard is simply spectacular, trackpoint works just as it should too, i'm on linux and so far i managed to get middle mouse button scrolling to work (there's my post about that in the linux subsection of this forum) but i'm yet to enable Fn+functional keys combos to work (for suspending, locki...

Re: Lenovo Thinkpad USB Keyboard configuration
Thanks for the links PizzaandWine. Here's what I've come up so far - I managed to enable middle mouse button scrolling to work. Essentially I just created a new .fdi file with contents pretty much the same as with the other file which I used to enable this feature on the laptop's internal keyboard. ...

Lenovo Thinkpad USB Keyboard configuration
Hi, So I have come into the possession of the latest iteration of the Lenovo Thinkpad USB Keyboard . It is a great keyboard, however there is some functionality that I miss from the internal keyboard of my Thinkpad. For example, the middle mouse button scrolling does not seem to work at all, even th...

Re: X200T w/External 1600 x 1200 Monitor
I would guess that it should not be a problem, since I was able to connect and use two screens with even higher resolution (1920x1200) and also had no problems connecting 4:3 monitors as well (1280x1024). I have not however tried a screen with 1600x1200 resolution to my X200s.

Re: X200s and two external monitors
ok, so i tried it, two 1920x1200 monitors connected to the X200s via the Ultrabase, one on VGA and the other on DVI to Display Port adapter; long story short - it works great and even a bit better than i hoped for; i was able to do the whole configuration in 2 minutes flat (using mouse only) on a fu...

Re: X200s and two external monitors
Thanks a million for your replies. This gives me a good idea what's involved in configuring that kind of setup. If you wouldn't mind commenting on one more thing - what's the resolution's of the screens that you use, what graphics card do you have and how do you find the 3d performance on dual scree...

Re: X200s and two external monitors
Thanks for your reply mate, this thread was turning into my personal log or something... (-: I checked that website you linked to and if I understand it correctly I'd have to go with the xrandr method to get the resolution changing on-the-fly. X200 Ultrabase has a Displayport and VGA ports, so if bo...

Re: X200s and two external monitors
Ok, I did some testing and connected an external display (17" 1280x1024) to my laptop through VGA port as I don't have a docking station around. I'm running Karmic and the screen wasn't immediately detected but when I opened the Display applet in the Preferences the screen was detected straight away...

Re: A working web browser for Ubuntu?
If firefox is acting up like that try to use Opera. That scrolling issue can easily be fixed - try googling around but it's basically that horizontal scrolling is mapped to back/forward in Opera (vertical scrolling is... well, scrolling), you just need to disable that. Also, are you sure you cannot ...

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 vs. Win 7 on a T60
A bit off topic, but for those of you running 9.10, how's the battery life? I haven't run any tests (I find them pointless) but it seems to be better than 9.04. The difference is not huge but it's visible. If I had to give you a figure I'd say you get extra 30 minutes roughly. Funny thing is that o...

Re: X200s and two external monitors
Hate replying to my own posts but... Well, according to this website setting up dual screen shouldn't be a problem. I'm still not sure about 3d acceleration on a desktop of that size and hot dock/undock with changing the resolution on-the-fly. Can anybody provide some input? I'm interested specifica...

X200s and two external monitors
Hi, I am toying with an idea of buying an Ultrabase for my x200s and use it to drive two external displays, 1920x1080 each. Now, while I know that the hardware is capable of doing this I was wondering if and how I configure this in Linux. I'd like to be able to extend my desktop to both screens (lap...

Re: To X200 owners: how's you keyboard?
hi, i think i know why the keyboard (on x200s at least) is flexy on the right side - i took my laptop apart the other day only to discover that there's hardly anything under the keyboard on that side that it can actually rest on so it must flex... on the right side around a hdd bay and battery there...

Re: Virtualization in X200s
Hiya, I went a little bit further. I managed to get XP, Vista and Windows 7 (one of the previous betas) running at the same time in Virtualbox (linux host). In all fairness Virtualbox was the only thing running at that time and there was nothing opened in neither of guest OSes but the whole thing wh...

I just got Crumpler's Gimp 12" for my X200s. I too have 9-cell battery and Gimp fits PERFECTLY. Only problem could be getting that sleeve, I believe that they've been discontinued. There's still good few on ebay or amazon though.

Re: Can the x200s boot from a USB powered DVD drive?
First I learned partitions "S" and "Q" are useless, just as I suspected, but wanted to confirm. I always do a "clean install" any chance I can. That way I can use my computer problem free for at least a couple months before it slows down again. ;-) Just for the record: you don't have to delete thes...

Re: Can the x200s boot from a USB powered DVD drive?
1) What did you do with partitions 'Q' and 'S'? Are they needed if I install XP over my factory installed Vista? Well, I wiped them both so quickly I don't even remember the letters of these drives but they are there so you can do a factory restore of your OS. I have no plans for restoring my lapto...

Re: Can the x200s boot from a USB powered DVD drive?
I happen to have a LG GP08LU10 External Super-Multi DVD Drive (http://www.lge.com/us/computer-products/optical-media/LG-external-dvd-burner-GP08LU10.jsp) which is USB powered and I can confirm that X200s can boot from this drive. The drive actually comes with two USB cables, one for data transfer an...

Re: 4 G of RAM under 32bit Ubuntu
Very nice! (-: I, however, decided to go for 64bit version since from what I have heard server kernel is optimized in a different way than desktop kernel which may result in decreased performance in certain scenarios. Obviously it is not an option when you have 32bit CPU but machines with 32bit CPU ...

Re: Real World Battery life for X200s & X301
On my X200s with 9cell battery I get around 5-6 hours, that's 100% brightness, CPU in dynamic mode, all radios switched on, all desktop effects enabled and all the usual software running (Firefox with 10+ tabs, IM, few documents, pdf's and spreadsheets, virtualbox, some downloading and audio player)...

Re: X200s with 1440x900 availability in Europe ?
Hi, I bought my X200s here but if you don't have a valid student ID (or don't know anybody who has one) you can go here . It's a German company and they sell German version of X200s but can change the keyboard for you to any layout you want (for a little extra). While I'm not entirely satisfied with...

Re: To X200 owners: how's you keyboard?
I got my X200s about two weeks ago and the keyboard is great. I am a touch typist and typing on this laptop is absolutely excellent. In all fairness there is a noticeable flex on the right side of the keyboard, around Enter key but it doesn't bother me at all. For a while I thought about buying anot...

sad state of facts is that X200s is not available around here yet; i'm not sure why but then again it only came out like 4 months ago in US so we can't expect Lenovo to bring it to Europe that quickly... sigh anyway, i have my eye on this one: http://elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=M...
