that he 701C had mwave was advertised in the song and dance presentation.. i am sure of it.. it HAS been a generation but my static memory should still be good.. :)

daisy chaining is not exactly the correct term.. multiple monitors would be more exact IMO which is what i did with the T40 series experiment years ago and at that time i used DELL displays..

about 15 years ago i used a mini-dock on a T40 series thinkpad and connected two displays.. one to the dock and one to the thinkpad.. they both worked and if my memory is correct each could show a different window.. someplace in a few TB of disk i have a picture.. not sure how i would find it though...

hello Maxence822.. welcome to the forum.. just FWIW.... neither of those pix are 701 system boards.. i have (had) a dozen 701C thinkpads.. been sending them to hwattys, a forum member.. he refurbs and gets them running even though all of them worked up to a few years ago.. the issues seem to be a me...

first, it is NOT a serial IN plug.. err, socket..
it is the power socket..
and i would not mess with the system board, just grab one of those ebay items RBS pointed you toward.. :-)

are you wanting to know the pinout of the power socket..? your question is not very clear.. if so, the power in socket should be a rectangular openint with three connections.. from memory: there will be a small "peg" in the center with a tiny hole.. i don't know the exact pinout BUT one will be powe...

but the T60 is retired for the most part so i sold the display for about $175 last year..

sorry we can't help..
for obvious reasons it would not be a good idea..
it would only make profiting from theft easier..
have you thought about WHY you can not enter the bios password..?
if YOU set it then wait a day, clear your mind and try to remember it..
otherwise this is a tough thing..

it is a hack attack of some kind.. here is what joe hayes has done, so far.. this is froim his email to me wednesday.. I have CSF listening for distributed attacks but these IPs are only connecting once and not over and over, so it's hard to stop. Additionally, I've attached a graph of the countries...
