Re: X31 Recovery CD's Needed

saying "no rush" is like saying "see you in september".. :) between ray and I (assuming i can find CD 1 of 4 of the august version) we can put something together.. sometimes it is easier to just make duplicates and mail them.. mail to the UK is trivial.. and, since mine are for machine type 2672 and...

BUT there are a bunch of $400 used thinkpads.. for me i would find a good used X1 carbon.. and i would avoid the gen 2 with the crappy keyboard.. otherwise roam our marketplace an...

hello and welcome to the forum..

this issue SOUNDS LIKE the same issue i have/had with one of two T61p WUXGA thinkpads..
i don't recall the exact issue but you might need a new system board..
don't go buying one on just my word, wait for a few more opinions..

ok, memory appears to be OK..

floppy appears to be OK..

perhaps it wants to update from the existing bios rev level to the NEXT and not jump several rev levels..?
thats the next possible issue..

Re: 390X BIOS update hardware error occurred

that 390X is a seriously old model of thinkpad.. and adding more memory IS a compelling reason to update the BIOS.. i have not tried updating the BIOS on any of my antique thinkpads.. forum member hwattys and a few others might be able to add something here BUT the last few times i updated a BIOS wa...

Re: OS/2 PowerPC Edition

2.5" SCSI HDDs should have the same pin header / it's what they plug into with special caddies that makes them unique. i still have a few of those 750/755 series caddys and they are NOT the same as those for the SCSI drives in the power PC 850 series.. SCSI drives have had a wider header on the dri...

daisy chaining is not exactly the correct term.. multiple monitors would be more exact IMO which is what i did with the T40 series experiment years ago and at that time i used DELL displays..

about 15 years ago i used a mini-dock on a T40 series thinkpad and connected two displays.. one to the dock and one to the thinkpad.. they both worked and if my memory is correct each could show a different window.. someplace in a few TB of disk i have a picture.. not sure how i would find it though...

are you wanting to know the pinout of the power socket..? your question is not very clear.. if so, the power in socket should be a rectangular openint with three connections.. from memory: there will be a small "peg" in the center with a tiny hole.. i don't know the exact pinout BUT one will be powe...

sorry we can't help..
for obvious reasons it would not be a good idea..
it would only make profiting from theft easier..
have you thought about WHY you can not enter the bios password..?
if YOU set it then wait a day, clear your mind and try to remember it..
otherwise this is a tough thing..
