I hope that hard drive linked in the first post is the right one for my wife's T-42P. I just ordered one. Laptop corrupted windows and we are going to try to save her stuff off it and then install the new hard drive and re-install XP pro.

As an update. I have XP Pro installed and pretty well updated. Works so much better. I think I might splurge for a CPU update and be done with this and just use it. Vista just is a pain to deal with too many things I can't change. The wireless performance has been terrible. I get great connection to the router but the internet is in and out. Disabled the power save. It still keeps dropping connection to the internet. The wireless light seems to blink nearly all the time rather then be steady. I have a belkin N router and WPA encryption set. It seems to have started since I ran some of the windows updates. Any other settings i can try?

My T60 arrived a couple days ago and I am getting used to it. It has the 11ABGN Atheros card in it so no need to change the T60. I like enough I want to install the same thing in my T42P. Can the Atheros ABGN Card be made to work in the T42P?

Thanks that is exactly what I needed to know. I would rather have the machine be the limitation then the drive and so long as they are compatible. I am going to look at getting it and hopefully have it arrive about the time the laptop gets here. Set it all up one time.
