Drat - Windows crash and no windows backup install disks
Well here I am 9000 miles from home and the wife's T42P decides to hard crash windows. No troubleshooting remotely has helped so here is the plan.. I ordered a new hard drive, should be there in a few days. In the meantime we are trying to save the data off the old one. Bought a hard drive caddy and...

As an update. I have XP Pro installed and pretty well updated. Works so much better. I think I might splurge for a CPU update and be done with this and just use it. Vista stinks if you don't have a very fast machine. By the way, wireless now works flawlessly all the time. No need for my external Bel...

XP Pro 32 bit was ordered last night. Hope to see it in maybe a week or if I am lucky a few days. I am going to move everything off my C drive that I need to save and then start from scratch. I have the Vista Home version so the Lenovo option was out, plus they won't ship to FPO's so I would have ha...

Performance penalty of downgrading Vista Home Premium to XP?
Vista just is a pain to deal with too many things I can't change. The wireless performance has been terrible. I get great connection to the router but the internet is in and out. I don't know if this is a setting problem or a vista issue but I have tried the tricks I have found here and even install...

Intermittent wireless on T60
Mine has the factory Atheros AGN card. I have only had this about 10 days and it was a leftover NIB unit. Most of the drivers and software were out of date. I ran the updates a couple times and now I seem to be getting intermittent wireless connections. It turns on and off. I am not sure whether win...

T42P and maybe same upgrade for a T60 - Wireless N
We are currently running PCMCIA cards for our wireless on the soon to be retired T30 and my wifes newer T42P. I have an inbound T60 that is NIB. We are running a wireless N based network at home. I see these discussions on Atheros and Intel Mini-PCI cards. Is there one of these with N capability tha...

T60 HD compatibility question
I am looking at a Seagate Momentus to replace the 5400 rpm drive in my soon to arrive T60. 200 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300 . The SATA 300 part is what I am not sure about. Supposedly this T60 is NIB, 2.16ghz, 2gig ram X1400 ATI video. I am hoping it will be able to run some games and keep me ent...

Updating Wireless circa 4/08
I am a newby on here. I have owned 3 Thinkpad's so far. A T21, a T30 and a T43P which my wife uses. I upgraded to 1 gig of ram in the T30 which will soldier on as my life support system as I will be away from home for quite some time over the next 8 or 9 months. So for the T30 I have been searching ...
