High Resolution Thinkpads MT / Models with native 2560x1600: Do they exist? Hello Forum Members: I'd like to find a Thinkpad with graphics that will output 2560x1600 to an external monitor. I don't need that high resolution for the Thinkpad display, only for signal output to an external monitor as I...

Re: FS: R50p -- $185 Shipped
dear dr_st Thank you for your reply. Although I can't presume anything given the array of causes of shadows. I've have read, been told, and experienced that shadows can be of different causes. Some causes normal and others an indication of a problem. Sometimes difficult to assess, especially without...

Re: FS: R50p -- $185 Shipped
You mentioned it has the shadowing in the lower right corner common with the UXGA screens.
Shadowing and dark spots can also be a sign the CCFL / Backlight is beginning to fail.
How do you know for sure if it's normal shadowing or the start of CCFL failure?
Mike

Pointer Movement Erratic in Response to Trackpoint pressure
My pointer is going bonkers! It started to drift wildly and has become very sensitive when touching the trackpoint button, the pointer flies rapidly from one side of the display to the other with hardly any pressure to the trackpoint button. Note: By "pointer" I mean the cursor icon on the display i...

Ray and sjthinkpader: This is to follow up on your advice and my troubleshooting findings. It appears the A20P / my machine's going into Stand By mode was caused by the sensor switch being activated by the pull lever flopping out on its own. The pull lever was flopping out on its own because the the...

To: rkawakami Ray - Very Perceptive! I'm investigating your suggestions further. The Ultrabay has two pieces/components to release/remove an Ultrabay device. to: sjthinkpader Thanks for your suggestion to check the lid switch on the sub card.. Touched it, put pressure on the switch without depressing it and nothing happened at all so apparently that's not the problem. Also, when depressing that switch, the laptop goes into "hibernation" mode as it is sup...

A20 A20P randomly unexpectedly goes to standby Stand by mode
My A20P is randomly going into "stand by" mode. It does this occasionally, but frequently when I touch or lift or push on seemingly unrelated pieces of the plastics / case. For example, sometimes I just lift it from one place to another on my regular desk and something causes it to go into stand by....
