Re: Fan Error
Where can I buy a fan (Ebay? Internet site?)?
Is it a specific model?
How much should it cost?
Thank you!

Fan Error
While turning on my X61s, I get a 'Fan Error' message. It hangs for a few seconds and then turn off. I brought it to a technician. He claims that he cleaned the fan, and that it works fine. He says that it's a known issue, and that I should only press the ESC key to continue with the boot process. I...

Re: Bluetooth driver problems
Tim, Thank you for the sympathy and the concern. I'd love to get my BT working again, but it's really gone out of proportion. I spent many hours trying to solve it, even before I posted the question. Then with your assistance I tried other things, which of course required more time. Yes, my BT mouse...

Re: Bluetooth driver problems
So far, I spent many hours trying to solve this issue.
Installing, un-installing, booting again and again...
I feel it's going nowhere.
Thank you Tim for the good will and the good advises. They don't work for me.
I give up.

Re: Bluetooth driver problems
The basics are fine. (1-5 are all correct). The bluetooth icon is blue. I could even find the bluetooth devices, but I kept getting an error while trying to attach them. The problem is that it didn;t even ask for a pairing code. I uninstalled the driver (again). In the device manager I checked the '...

Re: Bluetooth driver problems
Thank you Tim. I suppose that you mean 7vbv05ww.exe (5 instead of 7). I uninstalled the previous driver of 'Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced data rate', restarted and installed the 7vbv05ww.exe. It installed to a folder named 'C:\DRIVERS\TPWUSB'. I still experience exactly the same issues, with the ...

Bluetooth driver problems
I have X61s with Vista Business. I tried to upgrade the driver using '7zbv15ww.exe'. I still have one 'unrecognized device' in the device manager. When selecting 'Update driver software...' from the right click menu, the following error pops-up: Windows found software for your device but encountered...

Re: WWAN ports
I deleted all the occurrences of the Sierra card from the device manager and let Windows find new hardware. I didn't remove the drivers.
It didn't help.
Rebooting also didn't help.

WWAN ports
My built-in Sierra WWAN cannot connect anymore. I noticed that the Windows 'Device Manger' is not showing all the card ports. The only ports are 4 UMTS ports. There were more ports before, and now they are missing. The network I need to connect to is 3G. The actual port on COM8 that was working well...

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 and X61s
I have X61s with bluetooth and want to buy a wireless mouse, that will preferably work without a USB dongle. Did anybody try this mouse with X61s (or on any other laptop of the X6x series)? This mouse comes with a 2.4GHz bluetooth USB dongle. Will it work without the dongle? Do you have other sugges...

Sierra HSPDA adapter
My X61s came with this card installed.
Where is it located?
I don't know if it would be possible to use it in my country, but if so, it will probably require the replacement of a SIM card.
Is it possible to replace the SIM card?
Thanks

X61 or X61s
I ordered from Ebay an X61s with L7700 1.8Ghz CPU and XP Pro. The supplier offers me X61 with T7300 2.0 Ghz CPU and either Vista business or XP Pro for the same price. All other specs are the same. Which one is preferred? Also, I read in the forums the L7700 are automatically supplied with an ultral...
