Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for posting that info.
I'm watching this thread eagerly -- I would drop my SXGA+ X61t in a second for an SXGA+ non-tablet X61.
If some enterprising individual wanted to charge for the conversion, he could do well.

Sorry for the delay. Nikemen sent me a PM and I figured all of you would benefit from my response. Replaced it with another X61 tablet with the turbo memory, which I find to be worthless, but I get my WWAN service from Sprint anyway so the Verizon internal card isn't useful to me. Nothing wrong as f...

FS: X61 Tablet SXGA+ 1GB 100GB 7200rpm a/b/g/n Verizon WWAN
It's mint -- ordered one, made a change and re-ordered, was unable to cancel before it shipped. Used it for a few days (seriously, maybe 3-5) before my other one arrived and it's been sitting around since. I may return mine through Amex. I customized mine online. $20 would be a huge markup on an extra slot and antenna, and I would gladly have paid it. No matter the price, at least it's clear that a second slot isn't included. Here's how machine number 1709 is listed in tabook: Two Mini PCI Express slo...

Yep, absolutely sure. The white slot marked by the red arrow is what's missing. My WLAN card is on the left side (from this perspective), and on the right side there's nothing. I don't have the green thing sitting on top of the slots in an L-shape either. http://ticeton.com/temp/x60_minipciexpress.j...

Think you have an extra mini PCI express slot? WRONG! (Pic)
I opened up my X60 yesterday to add a WWAN card. What a disappointment! THERE'S NO SECOND SLOT! The motherboard has a blank area with an I/O contact clearly intended for a second mini PCI express card, but Lenovo cheaped out on including the card slot?! Totally unacceptable. It does make the omissio...

WWAN internal with Sprint
Anyone used the internal Dell Sprint card?
I bet it would work, the thing I'm worried about is integration with Access Connections. Is the WWAN card essentially just a modem Windows recognizes like DUN?

One more question -- has anyone considered trying to find another drive in that form factor and swapping it out? Basically, IBM has adapted an existing optical drive by adding a bezel, etc. I'm sure it would be possible to find another of the same form factor and fit it with the IBM-specific stuff f...

IBM a/b/g Mini PCI Adapter II -- Who makes the chipset?
It's impossible to find any information on the chipset in the II adapter available when customizing the T series. Does anyone know who makes it?
Someone mentioned once it was the Atheros 5004 series, but there's no literature to confirm it anywhere.
Can anyone help?
