Re: UltraNav SK-8845 Windows 8 drivers?

i see now the difference between version 1.10 and 1.12 of the driver for the sk-8855: on w10 with version 1.10, there is a lag of the multimedia keys, and it is corrected in version 1.12

Re: Using T480 (or other current T series) with 7-row "ThinkPad USB keyboard with TrackPoint"

First the new keyboards have newer keys, especially around f9 and they pop up the new software by lenovo to tweak whatever. What works on the external keyboards is the multimedia keys, and the fn+f4. You can wake up the laptop as long as you do not disable this feature in the device manager of windo...

I still fail to get 8jvu20ww.exe working on w10 with the l390. I bet that it works with the x390, and the L would be too much of a fake thinkpad. can somebody with a X390 or T490 or T590 try those 8jvu20ww.exe and see if they get the OSD ? same question with changing the driver for PM device, by usi...

Re: what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar

yes you need the good combination of hotkey and PM device
so I recommend the version 8jvu20ww.exe for hotkey
previously you must remove any version that you have

it works on the x260 with PM device driver here

Re: Thinkpad USB Ultranav keyboard - hardware questions

There are at least 2 kinds of keyboards, I suspect you have the ''real ibm'' so on ebay you have to look for those, i think the way to see them is that their date is around 2007 THe chinese copy is a tiny step closer to a NMB, and they come in boxes with even CDs... They use the driver of the 8855 a...

Do you think that these pads with high thermal conductivity are better than the paste ? I would be willing to try the ''[Alphacool] 0,5MM Wärmeleitpad 20x20mm Eisschicht 17W/mk→Sarcon XR-m ThermalPad'' from ebay. since there is air between the gpu and the heatsink, and that there is a 10 degree difference when i play a video [FHD x265 fullscreen, dxva] i had the idea of a pad to replace the air. Depending on CPU: http://www.arcticsilver.com/intel_application_method.html# That method goes for all paste brands (except liquid metal , which should NOT be used on a laptop). i finally applied this kruonaut but the paste is not at all liquid like the artic silver. i have the same question for the L390. I only use the laptop on my desk, so I removed the internal battery as soon as I opened the lenovo box. w10wheel is an Alternative to marblescroll

We all know that the trackpoints can use the generic ''mouse behavior'' instead of the usual "normal scrolling" that is the default behavior with the synaptics driver for the trackpoint with synaptics controller. The normal scrolling has tpmiddle to get the middle click working on the middle button ...

for the difference in keys, I prefer the keyboard which uses the lenovo driver. There is a nasty bug with the sk-8845 with PID HID\VID_06CB&PID_0009&MI_00, with scrolling with the ''normal scroll'' by synaptics (not the the scroll by generic drivers from microsoft), meaning with the sk-8845 which takes the synaptics drivers. tpfancontrol v0.63 might not be capable of controlling your SL500's fan, but I suppose that you could still give it a try.
