Not bad, but you can get new same config for. $1200. Wqhd is $1350 and I'd recommend that.

Re: t420s w/ FHD mod

That's a nice build you got here! I wonder why is it so cheap? Did the prices go 1.5x down during the last two years? (This one seems better than one you sold two years ago for $450) Dunno. I just put a $ on it. Been cleaning out my office and not feeling like getting the most out of it. I think th...

Recent support experience - A+++

I recently bought a used ThinkPad X1 Tablet 2nd gen on eBay. It was a good deal, and was supposed to be pristine. When I got it, the keyboard had a big scratch in it (no big deal) but the trackpoint was harder to push right than other directions. Really annoying, but hard to prove. I tried web suppo...

Re: Will a T410 or T420 bluetooth module work on t430/t530?

i believe it will work. I have done the reverse and put a x230 bluetooth module in an x220 no problems. I believe the port is a modified USB port with a custom connector. Just need the drivers from that model (or rather generation) Not sure if the 10 series will work - they were considerably differe...

Re: Installing classic keyboard into X230 with EC firmware mod

So I finally got the EC keyboard mod to work on my t430s, now how do I make a build that removes the battery check? I understand that I have to modify the .FL2 file but I'm not sure how, any guidance is appreciated. Thanks. In Linux you need to cd to the t430s directory and rename the battery patch...

T430s with nVidia disabled use DisplayPort?

I know on the t420s you can't disable the nVidia graphics and use the DisplayPort (or dock video). Did that change with the t430s? Can you use the dock video while Just using integrated graphics? The user doesn't have any caveats around the DisplayPort and thought maybe you could disable NVidia. Any...

One Of the batteries came with a t430s I just boight. In stress testing it, there has been some odd behavior (shuts off spontaneously after a minute or so, but only whe. However I've noticed on boot into Win 7, as well as anything with a dark (black) boarder. There's backlight bleed! It goes up the screen about 1" and is the worst right above the lenovo logo. There's also some in the middle. Is something pressing on the screen? Or is this to be expected? FYI. I don...

Yet another T420s. I can't stop buying these machines! I picked this one up since it was so nice, and tricked it out a bit. It's a standard HDD-based Win10 Pro install, but I put in a mSata SSD and installed OS X 10.11.5 (El Capitan), and works beautifully in a dual boot scenario. I have a docking s...

How does one enable the patch? Thanks! -Dan The patches that are applied to the firmware are in the subdirectories "*.img.d" - only the patch files that match "*.patch" are applied when the new image is built. In your case, this directory is "t430s.G7HT39WW.img.d", and you could enable the battery ...

Re: Installing classic keyboard into X230 with EC firmware mod

Semi off-topic, but has anyone looked into or made any progress on bypassing the whitelist wifi check similar to the battery bypass? I'd like to make a "classic" t430s (mostly for fun), and hackintosh it, but the mac requires atheros cards. A t420s makes an awesome hackintosh. :-)
