My T30 has the GCC-4160N combo drive in it. Maximum record speed reported by Nero and EasyCD is 4X. I have tried everything to get it faster and have given up..

I upgraded the DVD/CDRW firmware on my T30 using a USB key. It was a big pain in the [censored]. Turned out to be a big waste of time also. Nero and EasyCD still report it's maximum write speed at 4X, even though it's a 16X...

I own a T23 1.2Ghz w/512mb ram and a T30 1.9GHz w/256mb ram. The T30 is much faster in every benchmark and with every application you run on them. Just my personal experience....

All T30's come with antennas in the lid. I just replaced the Cisco card in mine with the 2200BG. $35 on Ebay. You'll need to run no1802 and I recommend downloading the latest drivers from Intel's site. It's as simple as installing memory and takes less than 30 min, start to finish. Good luck...
