X200 broken thinklight, microphone, bluetooth
Hi My X200 has had a broken thinklight for a very long time now, it will work if I squeeze the bezel near the webcam. My microphone has recently stopped working and now my bluetooth is going down the drain, I know it must be a hardware issue because I kind of closed the laptop and physically rubbed ...

Re: Werid Flickering on Lenovo X301
My X200 does that as well to varying degrees, sometimes a lot worse then that even, just want to throw the thing out! I believe it might be related to the LCD ribbon cable, my think light does not work either.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: DOS license vs. Win 7 preinstalled
Personally I don't care what people do on their computers, 2011, SSD all the way, the difference is definitely noticeable, even my wife (almost strictly a web browser based user) commented on how fast the computer was when I upgraded to one. Lenovo likely overcharges for them, when I bought my X200,...

Re: X200 LCD vs. X200 LED ???
My X200 with LED backlight has a really bad screen flickering problem, often the screen flickers terribly, breaks up shows weird grey checkered patterns, or lines. I believe related to the ribbon cable, as the thinklight is also kaput unless I squeeze on the bezel right underneath it. I have found a...

Re: Recommendations on which SSD to get for T420
i picked up a 160gb intel x25-m second hand off craigslist for 180, a little risky and supposedly slower in some specs, but i have great luck with a few other intels as well. i highly recommend them.

Re: Bought Used T400, ordered Recovery Media
Ended up getting Windows 7 Pro 64 bit spread over two discs, so that is ok....
Just wondering, if I were to buy another T400, would there be a technical problem using these discs again on a different machine?

Re: upgrading RAM on my T400
No 100% sure on the accuracy of this but.... It would be very wise to always upgrade dual channel ram in pairs, ie take out the existing 2GB of ram and dispose of it however (ebay?). I would upgrade with two 4GB sticks of ram for a bump to 8GB. It does not matter if you get DDR3-1066 ram or DDR3-133...

Bought Used T400, ordered Recovery Media
Just recently bought a used T400 off craigslist, 6473-41U, not bad, it came loaded with Windows 7 Pro and had Office 2007 built in. I noticed the hard drive had been changed from the expected 320 down to an 80, seller apologized and knocked a few bucks off. Anyhow, I attempted to factory restore the...

Re: ThinkPad X210/X211 wishlist
No real buyers remorse on my X200, but I can't afford to upgrade for at least a couple more generations. Its still real good after a year, but how thin and flimsy the lid is, really really bothers me now. I want a ROCK SOLID Thinkpad in the future. I feel Lenovo really cheaped out on some aspects of...

Re: x200 over heating
I'm not sure if mine is overheating, the only real significantly warm spot is where the RAM is on the bottom. But about a month ago, the thinklight malfunctioned, if I squeeze the lid it will come on, so loose connector..... Also I just started getting the sudden shutdowns, watching a youtube vid la...

X200 Thinklight Broken
My X200's thinklight does not work unless I apply a pinching pressure directly below it on the lid, I would really like to fix this (you don't miss it till its gone), but do not want to mess anything up in the process. Should I look into warranty service for this? still 150 days left in warranty... ...

Re: "rescue media" vs. "recovery discs"
Ok so done and done now, that create rescue media is a labour intensive process imo, the few bucks that lenovo saved, certainly wasn't equal to my time. Anyhow, grand total for "create recovery media" for my X200 running Windows Vista Basic 32-bit = 14 CD , way too many imo.

Re: "rescue media" vs. "recovery discs"
I'm creating rescue media right now for my X200, I ordered an x25-m 80gb, so I figure the media will be helpful. My ultrabase only has a CD burner, and I am currently on disc 12, babysitting on and off for a good 12+ hours now (each cd is taking a good 20 minutes to burn+verify), can anyone give me ...
