Re: W700 series vs T60P/61p

Can anyone comment on the screen(s) available on Lenovo's consumer-grade notebooks, specifically the 17" WUXGA screen on some of the IdeaPad notebooks? I think the specifications say is is 300 nit. It's not the same screen as on the 17" W700 series, so just how good is it ? My main concern with a ne...

Re: W700 series vs T60P/61p

Actually I was just reading another post with a review of the W700 -- sorry I can't link to it -- anyways he was absolutely raving about the quality of his W700 UXGA screen, said it was way better than the IPS Flexview screens we have been discussing.

So how's that ??

Re: W700 series vs T60P/61p

So no current Lenovo notebooks offer IPS screen ?? Do any of the other manufacturers (HP, Dell, etc.) offer IPS screens on their current notebooks? I'm still using and enjoying my T42 (with 15" SXGA "Flexview" matte screen) but need to upgrade.

How to Adjust LCD Brightness Levels - T42

I'd like some help with how to access and adjust LCD brightness levels on my T42. I understand there are a number of different levels. What exactly are the default settings, which is what I'm using. Does the default setting give you the highest level using A/C power? I know the screen dims on batter...

If you missed the upgrade by one day, and really want the upgrade, just return the laptop and order a new one while you are under your 1st 30 days. Remember -- Lenovo no longer offers an option to return a notebook in the first 30 days -- someone can link to the exact policy -- but the gist of it i...

Are IPS panels, including high-resolution ones (UXGA and SXGA+) available from other manufacturers? Aren't Dell and HP's non-glossy high-end high-resolution panels, based on IPS technology? All the manufacturers use a different name for these displays, but they tout the wide viewing angles you get w...

I guess the saving grace of a 1200 x 1920 panel is that you don't lose any screen 'real estate' and in fact gain some on the width. Correct me if I'm wrong or not understanding this, but with a WUXGA (1200 x 1920) versus a UXGA (1200 x 1600), I should get exactly the same amount of information top t...

There seems to be a consensus that there is a supply issue with the 15" UXGA "standard form" (4 x 3) displays. But actually Lenovo is only offering a few T60's, all XGA panels, suggesting that there is a supply issue with both the SXGA+ AND the UXGA screens. And what about those T43's Lenovo happens...
