WTB: T61p 15.4" 9 Cell Battery

I'm looking for a genuine Lenovo 9 cell battery for my 15.4" T61p. Needs to be in good overall health (green) and can hold at least ~3 hours worth of a charge. Would prefer one with Panasonic cells for longevity's sake. I'm not looking to spend too much since it will see somewhat limited use, so a S...

WTB: T61p 15.4" Motherboard with FX570M

I'm looking for a motherboard for my 15.4" T61p since its GPU recently died after 7 years of use. I've already talked with TuuS (who was very helpful, as always), but wanted to see what other options might be available. I'm specifically looking for a native Penryn support board from an 08/08 or late...

Re: X6x without hot as hell palmrest - is it possible?

I'm using an Intel Advanced 6200 half-sized mini-PCIe 802.11b/g/n card with a bracket in my X60s. No toaster effect so far. I just upgraded my Intel 3945ABG card to the 6200 last week. The palmrest temperatures are noticeably better (slightly warm instead being moderately warm to even hot at times)...

Wow, this is a great thread! I'm so glad that there is a more "permanent" fix to this problem. I too have recently begun to experience GPU problems with my T40 within the past couple of months. I noticed that you mentioned the R52 board will fit in the T4x chassis. I like that it's SXGA+ compatible ...

X20 Constantly Shuts Down

I just received a used X20 that seemed to be working OK. However, I have been trying to install Windows 2000 on it since it did not come with a hard drive. Whenever I tried to use fdisk to format the drive, everything kept shutting down or going into standby-usually standby first, then after waking ...

You might want to put it up on its side for a few hours and let all of the water drain out. I would also leave it turned off until you are sure that it is dry so that you don't damage anything else.

My T61p and T40

Hi everyone, here are my two Thinkpads. I got the T40 last year after a family member spilled some water on it. Luckily, I was able to salvage it and and do a few upgrades to it at the same time (1.7 Dothan, extended battery, a new hard drive, and a small memory upgrade). The T61p is still brand new...
