T61 Penryn Thermal sensing error question

If I have a motherboard with analog thermal sensor and I get the error in startup, can I still see the CPU temperature normally with TPFanControl?

Thanks.

Re: T61 CPU temperature - Penryn vs Merom

0.85V? I assume this is a T7100-only feature. It sports the lowest voltage of the regular CPUs in the specs. Or is there a way to get voltage lower than 0.9V on the other CPUs? Lowest voltages usually vary between CPU units of same model, because others are more stable. Not sure if 0.85V is T7100 o...

Re: T61 CPU temperature - Penryn vs Merom

Thanks for the input. I have T61 with integrated graphics too with T7100. It gives similar idle temp results: ~57C with 0.9V ~55C with 0.85V ...in 25C ambient. Seems like these Merom temps are normal and there's no bias. Now could at least someone with Penryn CPU post idle temperature so we can see ...

T61 CPU temperature - Penryn vs Merom

I'm trying to find out how much difference there is in Penryn (T9XXX, T8XXX) and Merom (T7XXX) CPU's temperature/heat dissipation and whether they can operate cool without fan. Could people with any CPU in their T61 post their idle temperature with TPFanControl and fan off. It is better to let idle ...

Re: Suspiciously low temps

I have year old T60 with same GPU. My temperatures used to be around the same, 43C for CPU and 45C for GPU, 3000RPM and ~22 ambient. I think your and my T60 have different heatsink than other/older ones that were reported to have very high GPU temp. I think the difference is that the heatsink has be...

Re: Parts for the ultimate 15” T60 UXGA FlexView w/T61(p) mobo?

I'm going to do this T61 mobo replacement for my T60 too asap, though it might take awhile. I asked about this fit issue with PM from two posters who had done the replacement: freddy418 said he didn't have any problems, Ck51010 : My swap was 99% compatible except for the modem card not fitting. I br...

... they have made R61 with 15" 4:3 screen. This never happened. ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitute/psref/tabook.pdf http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67707 It seems like those were released only in Europe. Model numbers are 8943 and 8944.

I bought myself a brand new Flexview T60 with dedicated GPU a week ago and I have same sort of plans as you do except I'll stick to the original configuration for some time, since it has warranty, no time atm etc. Going to stick with T60 till they start producing some screens comparable to IPS, OLED...
