Leon it sounds like the other thread is talking about the newer 15" t series? mine is a t20 and is just metal underneath the paint.

repainting memory slot cover on t20?
ok weird question, but the paint on the memory slot cover and pci modem slot covers of my t20 have started peeling, the paint looks like some kind of latex/rubber coating, not just spray paint. anyone ever try repainting these? any suggestions on what to use?

intel speedstep on t20 with XP?
I just upgraded my T20 to XP and am updating all the Thinkpad S/W and drivers now. I noticed on the IBM site there wasnt anything for speedstep support on XP. Is this still needed ? Can I get it somewhere else?

Loose AC adapter plug?
Ok, another thing I noticed with the new T42, the AC jack in the back is a little loose. It can slip out of the back maybe an 1/8th of an inch with the slightest tug, and seems to jiggle a bit. Anyone else notice the same?
My old T20 never had this problem, the jack locks in pretty tightly...

T42 cant burn CDRs?
Hi all, Just got a new T42 2379-R9U. FIrst thing i tried to do was create the recovery discs, but quickly discovered none of my CDRs worked, borrowed my friends CDRs no luck, CDRWs worked fine though. WHenever I pop in a CDR and try the recovery program (or IBM RecordNow) the drive spins up and wind...
