Re: Positive feedback for FAIR Traders

Another two thumbs up for TuuS, my Ultrabay HDD caddy arrived completely unscathed after its 9000 mile journey. It fits properly and is working perfectly. Communication was excellent as was the packaging. I am so glad I was able to procure one of these before they sold out.

Hi Guys,

My old R31 is like..............something modern !

Stuck in a 512, the difference is unbelievable. It does everything instantly. I am amazed, only wish I had done this 2 years ago.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the replies. I had a quick look at the prices of the 128 memory, and its far more than the machine's worth !

Procured a copy of windows 2000 SP4 today, I'll see how it goes with that. Will have the old chestnut back in my sweaty palms next month.

Cheers

R31 RAM upgrade - 512 enough or 1 GB ?

Hi, Looking at upgrading the existing 256 RAM on this R31. Now, I'm not so computer savvy, so could do with a little advice here. I've been told that both memory slots are full, so that means a 128 in each hole. My options are either remove one bank and put a 512 in, making 640, remove both and put ...

Advice on updating and using my first computer again (380Z)

Hi, I now live overseas, but several days ago had a conversation with my mother, who told me that upon clearing out the garage she found my old thinkpad 380Z, still in its bag where i left it 4 years ago. This machine has some sentimental value to me as it was the first PC I ever owned, I bought it ...

Hi, Just found this on www.laptop-chargers.co.uk/connect.htm "Whatever you call them, they are expensive, troublesome, machine specific and absolutely necessary! You can run a laptop with a dead battery but not with a dead adaptor! Your laptop is worthless without one! Your laptop can be destroyed b...

Hi, Thanks for your prompt reply. In your opinion, is this adapter underpowered enough to cause a serious problem ? The voltage is the same, 16 volts. The difference is the ampage, I am using 3.36 instead of 4.5. I don't exactly know what amps mean, is it the strength of the current ? Thanks, INTJ .

Using The Wrong AC Adapter - Advice Please

Hello, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I live in Thailand and recently bought a Thinkpad R31, second hand, private sale. I have noticed when I power up the unit and the battery is less than 70% full and charging, the machine beeps frantically and the screen goes dimmer and brighter. This is pr...
