Intel X18-M SSD for my X300?
I'm thinking about getting one of the new 2nd generation Intel X18-M SSDs for my X300 when they become available. It is a 1.8 inch drive, will it fit in my X300? Anybody notice an improvement over the original Samsung MMD drive?

Re: Safe CPU temps / X300 & X301 / TPFanControl
Using TPfancontrol, I have my X300 set to fan speed 1 until the CPU exceeds 65C. It's a shame that the BIOS does not have a more graduated fan speed option, anything over 1 is too noisy. Fortunately with normal use it rarely goes over 60C.

Re: Fan Error at boot (X301)
This happened to my x300. I had to return it to Lenovo. The turnaround was quick and easy. I would not run it without the fan operating properly.

Re: new x300 really slow in booting up
I used a program to read the OEM serial number off my original x300 installation. It installed Vista business off a standard DVD, but now it will not activate (it wants me to call Microsoft).

Re: new x300 really slow in booting up
Clean install! I just did a clean install and it is like night and day. My x300 was taking 5 minutes to resume from sleep as configured by Lenovo. I did a clean install using a Vista DVD (not the Lenovo disks) and I am very happy!

Re: X300 freezes after waking from sleep
Does any x300 owner not have the wake from sleep freeze/delay in Vista? My mouse and keyboard are unresponsive even though the system looks good to go. I want to make sure I haven't configured something wrong. The delay seems to be longer if I have a lot of applications open, but there isn't a lot o...

Re: x300 with WWAN mc8775
I have the same problem as skdd with AC 5.12 after modifying my .dll files. Access Connections recognizes the HP MC8775 card, but it says error 58 and will not power on. I can use the Sierra 3G watcher program, but I don't like it because it launches the watcher box every time I wake from sleep. Any...

Re: X300 freezes after waking from sleep
I am running Vista 32 so maybe the sleep resume delay is Vista related.

X300 freezes after waking from sleep
My new X300 seems to freeze when it wakes from sleep. It takes about 10-20 seconds for the trackpad or the pointer to respond. Any ideas on what is causing this?

I don't see why adding peripherals would be a problem. To be honest, I would just buy a desktop PC for your workstation.

Re: thinking of exchanging my x300, need advice
Small font sizes are my pet peeve. I assume you already adjusted the DPI (dots per inch) display setting in the control panel? The first thing I did with my X300 is increase the DPI so the text is bigger. The 96 DPI default setting in Windows is way to small for today's high resolution screens. Adju...

Dud laptop fan but pleased with IBM/Lenovo service
Hi everyone, great forum I've learned a lot already. I love my new x300 but I was disappointed when the fan broke in the first week. FYI the bios will prevent the laptop from booting. However, the IBM/Lenovo service was great. They overnighted me a prepaid box, I shipped it and got the repaired lapt...
