Re: Time to crowdfund the real ThinkPad: let's see how badly we want it

I'm not sure if this is a suitable thread to post this. @mods: Please move this to another thread/space if you see fit Ever since computex when I first saw the Intel Compute Card https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/boards-kits/compute-card.html , I was intrigued by it. Personally I want...

Re: Controlling fan under OSX : Is that possible?

Hi guys, I tried on my x61 with Lion, but the fan still cannot be stopped. However, I can manually stop it through the blue thinkadvange button. Also I have installed istat, version 4.03, but cannot get the fan speed info. I followed the instruction from Anastasius (from here ) and have all working...

Re: Lion Mac OS X 10.7 on Thinkpad X61

Hello guys, I know it has been quite a while, but can anyone post the kext files and the DSDT posted by Pedrone (in page 6) to fix brightness? Thanks a lot in advance. If you can't post it anywhere, can you please send it to me via email (dragonknight.tan@gmail.com) and I will make it available for ...

Re: Lion Mac OS X 10.7 on Thinkpad X61

Finally, after sooo much delay, my RAMs and SSD have just arrived today and I'm now ready to upgrade my beloved X61 and get Lion to it. However, I've got a problem. In the instruction from Anatasius' first post, the second step is: 2) Install Chameleon 2.0 RC5 r1496 (you need exactly this version or...

Re: T60 Replacing Fan - Thermal Grease (Pic warning)

Well, first of all, sorry you guys for replying so late, I had a very busy Monday and Tuesday :P And second of all, thanks misfit and RealBlackStuff for all of your support. So, after hours of using the machine without any other problems, I decided to let everything go on as normal and don't bother ...

Re: T60 Replacing Fan - Thermal Grease (Pic warning)

Hello misfit , thanks for your really quick and useful reply. Let me explain the situation clearer. This noise is intriguing. Have you tried going back to the standard cooler set-up? Yes, I did. I cut a piece of 'known-good' thermal pad from the Intel north bridge chip and place it to the place wher...

Re: lm_sensors and Voltage reads

For the main battery (BAT0), You can use this:

Code: Select all

$cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
If you want the voltage only, try:

Code: Select all

$cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state | grep voltage
Hope this help ;)

Re: T60 Replacing Fan - Thermal Grease (Pic warning)

Hello everyone and sorry for bumping this old thread. Lastweek, after months of bearing the hot GPU of my T60p, I decided to replace the thermalpad (which, AFAIK, isn't effective enough for my FireGL V5250) with a copper shim. Follow the instruction in this forum, I found a copper plate for about 1....

Re: Ebay t60 Hanging issues.

The only other symptom i'm noticing is the battery isn't charging at all.. Can you try to boot to Windows 7 or any other OS without the battery installed? I have a 9 cells battery for my T60p which can't be charged either. Every time I try to install it to my T60p when it's running, the machine han...

Re: Noisy fan - should I get a replacement fan w/out heatsink?

First question: With my experience disassembling an X61, I'll say you can apply lubricating oil to the fan without too much effort (you will just need to pop out the keyboard and the bezel, then you can drop some lubricating oil to the fan). If you just want to lower the fan noise a little bit, I th...

Re: Thinkpad x61t drivers for windows 7- I instal the wrong ones

Since I don't have much experience installing driver manually, I think when you install a newer driver for your device, it will automatically remove the old one and install itself after that. But, I recommend you to install ThinkVantage System Update and let it help you to get the right drivers, dow...

Re: X61s bluetooth led not working

end of the story: once i replaced the inverter the led is still off all the time while the bt is trasmitting. so i guess its something different... i will live with it. I have a very similar problem on my T60p. About 6 months ago, my "power" led on the lid (you know, the little circle with the 'Z' ...

Re: X61 battery compatibility

It appears that it will fit in the battery socket and latch properly but without having it in my hands, I can't say for sure. I have used non-genuine Lenovo batteries in my X60 systems and so far all of them have worked well, with one exception. That 8-cell battery was fine for several months (rece...

Re: X61 battery compatibility

There is a chance that the battery will cause the "not a genuine Lenovo battery" warning message. This is based upon my experience with "compatible" X6 batteries. You may also find that the battery will not allow the laptop to be connected to the X6 Ultrabase. Some of the non-genuine Lenovo batteri...

X61 battery compatibility

Hello everyone. Recently I've purchase an used X61, which machine type is 7675-4KU. As the 4cells battery is getting worse and worse, now I have just 1 hour on it (without wifi or bluetooth), I decided to purchase a new 8Cells battery for the X61. I'm living in Ukraine, that makes purchasing and shi...

Re: Issue with T60p when running graphics-intensive tasks, WEI??

AFAIK, there's a thermal pad on the GPU. You didn't apply any thermal paste on between the GPU and the thermal pad, did you?
