that worked.
Thanks
And... to conclude this mess: the cdrw/dvd drive was not being recognized by the comp. I reinstalled it numerous times and restored windows using Recovery. The drive is now working again and I think its due to a few forceful and well timed re-installments.
Thank you again!

I just tried the IBM Recovery disks... it wont boot from those either.
It tries and makes noises, but then Windows joins in.
Seems like the thread name is was poorly chosen, at this point.

rkawakami, I Set the order in BIOS for the CDRW drive to be first each time I try. I have also used F12 on more than a few attempts in addition to the BIOS settings. I should mention that the laptop was dropped and was a precursor to this patch having to be installed again. The impact resulted in so...

Re: Cammand-tab no1802.com no1802 iso disk not booting. Wire
I checked the no1802 bootable disk in Virtual box - it works.
What could cause the cd to be skipped during boot?
It begins spinning and is being read for a few seconds, but then Windows starts up.

I am trying the "no-1802.com" now.
Do I also make this into an iso and run the same way?
I have tried that, it is not working.

When running the 1802 fix, was there a confirmation after typing "no-1802"?
I booted from an iso cd image, it ran. Then I typed the request, pressed enter and no response.
When i tried the new card - I got the 1802 error.

Re: T42 Boot Fail. " windows root system32 ntoskrnl.exe "
I was trying to avoid a complete re-install. I though I could just repair the file.
Regardless, I did try to re-install, but I was not given a complete set of cd's for the comp when I bought it.
Where can I get them? And will I have windows verification issues?

^^ give me a few more weeks..
I was referring to the re-install disks, though.
the computer is functional and required only the proper HD install.
I must say ,however, that IBM made the removal of that drive much to tempting for users like myself. Why?

Apparently it was the HD cover that I was messing with and now I have lost my OS. i bought this laptop ...
