That is either a video cable issue or your laptop needs to be hard reset. Shut it down and pull the battery and hold the power button for 30 seconds. You could also have a video driver issue. Small update... a reddit user was able to break this down easy for me to understand. Thankfully he told me to add .OFF to the patches I didn't want and remove the .OFF from the battery validation.

My X230 is now charging a non-Lenovo battery.

Truthfully, even if Nitrocaster makes a 3rd batch, selling them on ebay will be very easy. There was a kit on there a few weeks ago, 3 of them I believe and they were selling for a bit more than what he is asking.

I would possibly even consider two, depending how the first install goes.

On my x220 I'm running:

[*]Enterprise Samsung 960GB SSD
[*]Crucial MX200 Msata 250GB SSD

The only SSD drive that wouldn't work with my laptop a year or so ago was a Samsung 840 or 850 EVO drive.

Unit wouldn't boot. I had to return it and get a PRO model and the laptop worked fine afterwards.
